A wonderful ambiance. We felt welcome throughout our stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic. The gardens are beautiful and very peaceful.

This is a little gem of a property. The host Richard is a charming man, who wants you to enjoy his house. He serves beautiful homemade jams, made from fruits from his garden, with homemade brown bread. The house is full of character, and a 10-minute walk from the town centre. Recommend taking the back road.

Everything! The house was lovely and cosy, Roundstone is a beautiful little village and the owner, Mary, is an absolute gem of a woman! We forgot some medication that we had brought for our stay and she instantly called me once she found it and insisted that she mail us to it. If/when you visit you'll see that Roundstone has some award winning bars and seafood, so of course it receives a big recommendation from us. Two establishments to name in particular are The Shamrock Bar and O'Dowds pub, where the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and enjoy your food and drinks. The house itself has brilliant insulation from what we could tell (early May, and we got very lucky with the weather) but we didn't even need a fire in the evening, despite the well stocked turf shed and provided fire lighters. The rooms were a great size and even with a 20kg suitcase we had plenty of space. The beds were lovely and firm (for anyone that's conscious of their back 😉) and we collectively slept like logs! The back garden is stunning and they even have a picnic bench to enjoy the lovely weather, and maybe enjoy a disposable bbq if you fancy. All in all, an amazing place to stay, and a lovely village to holiday in. 11/10

I like the location and the facilities. The location of the house is beautiful, not far from Rounstone. If you want to recharge your batteries, this is the place to go. Great place to get away from it all.

It is a beautiful village on what feels like the edge of the world, surrounded by beautiful beaches, wonderful nature colours in a perfect setting. Perfect for group, family or solo trips. Great variety of pubs and eating choices in Roundstone village itself. I will be back for another visit and I will recommend to my friends too. Its a long drive over from Dublin but 100% worth it

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't...

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't imagine a more beautiful place. We ate at the very friendly Shamrock Bar and also at O'Dowds seafood restaurant and O'Dowd's cafe. It is a great small village, founded by Alexander Nimmo in the nineteenth century, so full of colourful terraced Victorian houses and easy to talk round . It has spectacular views of the mountains and sea.

Roundstone has maintained its laid back appeal over the 50+ years I have been going there. it never fails. The various bars and eating places are all of a very high standard. the local beaches are probably the finest in the world and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

Roundstone is a small, pretty place so with not much to offer for longer stays. The location of the hotel a short distance from Roundstone was ideal for guaranteed peace and quiet. We found our three night stay was just enough to cover the area, including Clifden, the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Kilary Fjiord/Cruise. Because of Covid restrictions we opted to eat in the Hotel each evening. The food was excellent.

A beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. The journey there was wet and windy but the welcome at the hotel was great and I was made to feel comfortable straight away. I enjoyed a Guinness in the bar and then went for dinner in the restaurant. That was amazing! The food was beyond my expectations (maybe I should have read more of the reviews, as the clues were all there!)

My husband and I stayed here whilst visiting our son at a nearby Gaeltacht. We had a wonderful and friendly welcome and a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The room was very spacious and clean and close to numerous beaches. We would definitely choose to stay here again when we're back down in Roundstone.

Super spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We also loved the little touches like fresh scones left for us, and proper coffee machine :) location couldn’t be better right in the middle of Roundstone, opposite great pubs
