Our stay in Nawalgarh was an absolute marvelous start to our trip in northern India. The enthusiasm with which the host family welcomed us was both infectious and inspiring, the love they have for Nawalgarh and the region was obvious to any one. The rooms left nothing to be wished for and the meals we shared with the other guests as well as the family father every evening were a good occasion to share about our impressions and learn further about the life here. The highlight (even if it's hard to decide on any one) was probably the city roundtrip, walking through the bustling bazaar, learning about the havelis scattered throughout the city and grabbing a few snacks on the way. On our own, we would never have known what to look for nor found our way through the many streets! The cooking workshop we attended in the evening was just as insightful (and a true delight for the tastebuds). The friendliness with which our hosts answered all our questions made us feel right at home. I could go on and on, but all in all, we highly recommend you have a stop here! Our only mistake coming here, was to only stay for 2 nights :)

We absolutely adored our stay at The Eco Lodge during December — it has truly been the highlight of our 3-week journey through India so far. After arriving in Delhi, the eco-lodge was a peaceful, welcoming retreat. What made our time here so unforgettable was not just the charm of the lodge itself, but the warmth and hospitality of the family who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The home-cooked meals, prepared by Gayatri , were beyond words — each dish a masterpiece, rich with flavour and love- the best Indian food we have ever tried. The beauty of the lodge and its vibrant bougainvillea, was the perfect setting to unwind. One of the most inspiring parts of our stay was seeing how the extended family lives in such harmony with the land and with each other. Their deep respect for nature and sustainable living left a lasting impression on us. We also enjoyed learning to prepare traditional Rajasthani dishes, which added an extra layer of connection to the culture and community. From the homemade chai to the rejuvenating lemon and ginger teas, everything made with love. The organic vegetables were delicious, and the sense of peace and care that permeated every part of the lodge made it impossible not to feel a sense of calm.
