Upon arriving we were met with warm greetings from Hasim and the staff. While helping us plan our trip in Jaiselmer, we were provided complementary chai. Hasim organise, a camel trip for us. We were even allowed to pick which room we wanted to stay in, which had a beautiful view of the city and the fort. The hotel had all the ammenities required to make it a wonderful stay. The staff were very accomodating and the food we ate at there was nice and affordable. The arrangements made for the trips around the city highlighted the non touristy but definitely more worthwhile spots around the city. The guide who drove us to the sand dunes, who along with the cameleer Durga Singh, were excellent. We had a great experience sleeping under the stars, and had the most delicious food prepared on an open fire by the the pair, we cannot recommend them enough. Hasim was the most gracious and helpful host, and we only have great things to say about his boutique hotel. Would 100% recommend this place and the tourist activities they facilitate.

Customer Service was excellent from the point of booking. The manager made contact and made us aware of services the hotel offers. He even met us at the station at 3am when our train was delayed! The hotel is modern, new and very clean. Room was large and well decorated with a large bathroom and good hot water shower. Bed was comfy. Location is great, less than 5 minutes walk to the main gate of the old city. Also has a nice rooftop restaurant. The hotel arranged our camel safari which was excellent. From start to finish we couldn’t fault anything and stayed here twice during our trip. The staff take a pride in the hotel and delivering superb service to guests. As far as I could see, Hotel Shahiraj Jaisalmer is the best choice for a hotel in Jaisalmer.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable inside. It was at a lovely spot inside the fort walls with a great view of the city on the terrace. The staff were also extremely helpful and very attentive and went above and beyond expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying at Jaisalmer.

Everything…. when we arrived at the train Station, the extensive works made the whole area a dusty mess and this extends out into the streets. The approach to the area of Jasmin is the same and we were thinking omg this is going to be tough ( we are well travelled in India ) but … The Jasmin is lovely …the staff waited up until 02:30am for us and showed us straight to beautifully decorated room with the all the lovely lighting set up and the room had been heated perfectly…they didn’t even ask us to check in …..just relax and have a good sleep. In the morning was no different, very relaxed check-in and breakfast was attentive and a perfect choice ( don’t be afraid to go room only and have a la carte breakfast its a good choice and very cheap, our total food bil for three breakfasts and one dinner and one lunch ( for two people ) was £34 The owner is very attentive and proud using family and friends for staff, also recommends a guide for the town heritage walk and he organises desert safari’s ( it’s not usually our thing but we did both and thoroughly enjoyed it. I get the comment someone made re bird droppings upstairs on the terrace but ignore this, it doesn’t spoil anything. If you’re on a budget don’t shy from the basic room, we had that without realising it was his cheapest room and it’s really nice. We looked at the others and all well priced and individual.

Wonderful location to explore city. Everything is near by and easy walking. Staff is very polite and friendly. Deepu is great caretaker. He helped with our stay making comfortable. Also outside breakfast time served us Tea and Coffee.

The hotel is very well located, the staff is incredibly helpful and polite, our room was beautiful, clean, and everything functioned properly. There is a beautiful roof terrace with an amazing view of the city and the fortress where one can have nice meals throughout the day and in the evening. There is a nice open fire and music for dinner. People come for dinner from all over the city to the roof restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice.

I will definitely come back there !! Stayed just one night and it’s way to short for such and amazing place!! I recommend spend there at least 3-4 days to fully experience this space. I’m Fort Villa you will find a peaceful corner to rest and recharge batteries. As a solo woman traveller in India I can really recommend it. All the stuff is very polite they will always help, but if you need time alone they respect your space and privacy. I am amazed how this place represent hospitality on the highest level and the building is just magnificent!! Oh and you don’t need to worry about cooking because meals they provide are truly delicious authentic Indian cuisine.(They make it fresh everyday) I wish I could spend more time there! Even watching desert sunset from the big balcony they have is like free tourists attraction:) it’s also great yoga and meditation spot:) Highly recommend!
