The hotel was very nice and comfortable inside. It was at a lovely spot inside the fort walls with a great view of the city on the terrace. The staff were also extremely helpful and very attentive and went above and beyond expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel if staying at Jaisalmer.

Hotel Jasmin Home was a wonderful home base for our family while exploring Jaisalmer. This boutique hotel combines modern comforts with beautiful antique and artisanal touches. We enjoyed leisurely breakfasts on the rooftop with a view of Jaisalmer Fort. The fresh squeezed orange juice and banana pancakes were favorites. Jitu is a gracious host and, like a personal concierge, went out of his way to assist us with planning tours, transportation, and shopping. The walking tour of the fort with Lalu and our desert camel safari with dinner under the stars were highlights. Jasmin Home was a lovely oasis to return to at the end of each day in Jaisalmer.

Our stay at Rajmandir was by far the best stay we’ve had in India. The hotel is located in a beautiful building inside the old fort and the room we had made us feel like royalty. We spent a lot of time at the amazing rooftop terrace, what a view! Most importantly though, the amazing staff makes you feel like you’re at home. Iran and Deepu are so helpful and kind, we were sad to leave them.

Jaiselmer has a lot to offer. Keep one day for desert safari and maybe sunset but avoid desert camps they are highly commercialized and do not offer a lot of room amenities. However, if you are only looking for a basic room and perhaps hot water in the morning, do give it a shot One day for Jaiselmer fort/ patwa palace and light and sound at he Gadisar lake, One day for a trip to Longewala border and museum, royal cenotaphs and can leave that evening.

Jaisalmer is an amazing place and over the years I have travelled there, the place gets better and better. I love that many of the old havelis in the town are being restored. It's not a big place, but has much to offer. I believe Jaisalmer is a must for anyone wanting to see the real Rajasthani lifestyle.

Definately loved Jaisalmer, the fort.

Definately loved Jaisalmer, the fort. We had a soft drink at Paridise within the fort which was lovely and a good chat to the owner which was fascinating. We enjoyed our trip to the desert but didn't ride camels but it was still fun just being there and seeing the sunset. Definately worth visiting.

Good place for short stay, with Jaisalmer fort being the main attraction. I would recommend staying and eating within the fort premises. However the main activities are at the Sand dunes (Thar desert) about 30 kms from the city. Must visit.

Good tourist place.

Good tourist place. Jaisalmer fort is a populated town itself with people staying in dwellings within the fort - so it may appear congested specially when moving about the narrow lanes within the fort. Those who like shopping, there is ample opportunity within the fort premises. Yet, my guide advised me to do shopping from markets near Patwon Ki haveli. Mandir Palace is a jewel , don't try to MISS it. The most beautiful building in yellow stone, I must say. The Museum (quite small) is worth a visit @Rs.120 pe head for Vilas Mahal . The palace is partly a luxury hotel, partly residence and partly open to tourists. Sam Sand dunes : It was quite fun to have a camel ride there. The area covering the dune safari was not big as such, but you get a feel of the desert nevertheless. Evening programme of folk song and dance at desert camp was kind of fun.But it lasted more than what one can enjoy.Shorter duration is better. Dinner : don't expect good quality there on your plate.Items we got were quite bland and sterile. Note : Sam dunes safari can be booked from Rajasthan tourism @Rs1250 per head.Private operators charge more anywhere between Rs.1800-2500/= Jaisalmer City is not a big city, like another middle tier city in India. People are quite friendly and cooperative I found. Ghotua : If you like sweets, from near the fort, buy Ghotua (Jaisalmer special) from the most well known sweet shop of "Dhanraj". Though not comparable with famous Bengali sweets, I liked Ghotua.

The staff for me was best feature of my stay - extremely kind, accommodating & helpful. The property itself, while in a great location, was fairly nice enough but during my stay realised there are far more beautiful hotels in the area. The rooftop is very nice offering the quintessential views of beautiful Jaisalmer however the actual room & bathroom were pretty outdated. Honestly, in my opinion the hotel feels much more in the 3 star range rather than its purported 5-stars.

This has been absolutely the best hotel we stayed during our travel in Rajasthan. So clean and well furnished, it looks like a comfortable and well designed apartment bedroom more than just an hotel, which is absolutely a plus for us! We had a very good breakfast (even with moka, you know, as Italians we appreciate that a lot!) in the wonderful rooftop terrace, with a beautiful view of Jaisalmer! We totally recommend it!

The hotel is beautiful or stunning finishings. It has a very nice rooftop pool and terrace where you can watch sunrise and sunset and have a great view of the fort. The hotel is more like a 4 or 5 star. It is in the perfect location close to the fort and it is quiet at night.
