Hotel is undergoing a major renovation and I received a modernised room with updated facilities. All of the staff were extremely professional & friendly, nothing was too much trouble. They work hard to ensure guests needs are met. The breakfast buffet was plentiful & they kindly obliged to prepare me some eggs one morning. I did a late check out and hung around the hotel until my bus departure. I would recommend to others.

Very well maintained property. Even during the rush days and hours of Christmas and new year, the property was on top of cleanliness. Their breakfast spread was delicious and amazing!! Very wide variety of dishes and very prompt seamless service at the restaurant. Overall we enjoyed our stay at Amika! Every aspect of this property is just excellent! Keep it up Amika team!! It’s sad they don’t have a chain or other branches in other locations !

The auto drivers who operate near the MGR bus stand and at all locations were very rude and ruthless, they don't care about the visitors coming to their town from different states, all they bother is to dominate, dictate and make quick money. Very close by to where we stayed, we found the garbage was stinking and some were using for LOO in the open, some were found urinating .. overall the city lacks basic amenities and administrative issues needs top most attention. Places like ARULMIGU KALLAZHAGAR SUNDARARAJA PERUMAL TEMPLE, Palamudizholai, Tiruparankundran are great places to visit. Food is good at Bhagwati Mohan's Bhojanalaya, Modern Restaurant for Tiffin and Temple City are recommended. You will need about 3-4 days to explore all these places with adequate time at your disposal.

We visited several times before five years.

We visited several times before five years. Now moderate chances are feeled. But it is Nice. It was a very short visit nothing more to say. Only night we went Sabarees restarent and it was great. We visited all temples at Madurai, Tiruparamkunram and Algar Malai with Pazhamuthisolai.

Madurai has a lot of places to visit so you need to schedule enough time - may be at least three to four days to do justice. City has changed a lot during the last five to ten years - traffic is very chaotic especially with narrow roads and the phenomenal increase in two wheeler riders. There is no direction from the railway station. There is infrastructure and development work going on at the main entrance for a long time now so some better direction is needed for people who are visiting for the first time.

Madurai has the greatest eye hospital in the country. We made use of that and spent an entire morning at the Arvind Eye Hospital - the checkup is always so thorough and the doctors and nurses are incredible!

Madurai is such a beautiful place to visit. I completed my schooling in Madurai. So many temples to visit.We will get Awesome vegetarian food there. I recommend Sabareesh restaurant ( Opposite of college house) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Superb food. Everytime we will have food from there.Do visit Thiruparamkundaram,Alagarkovil and Thirumalai Nayakar place in Madurai . Famous for jigarthanda ,chungudi sarees and Madurai jasmine flower.

Friendly staff who spoke English. Hotel close to eateries and shops including KFC if you want western food. On a road that is quiet at night. Friendly staff. Clean room with fridge and ensuite shower and toilet. Very comfy beds. Lift to floors of hotel. Indian breakfast included in the option we booked. Able to get tuk tuk from outside hotel to centre of Madurai to sightsee or get to train station.

The hotel is located very close to the Meenakshi Amman Kovil but also from Madurai Junction and Periyar bus stand. The room is nice. No closing time for the main door so you can come back whenever you feel like.
