The Di-Lac is an excellent choice for a place to stay in Gangtok. It has a more traditional Sikkimese home feel about it with a wonderfully friendly and helpful owner and staff - as opposed to commercial accommodations. The Di-Lac is located an ~10 minute, inexpensive, taxi ride above the main shopping and tourist area of Gangtok so one can have the hustle and bustle of the town or visiting local areas, and then retreat to the peace and calm of the Di-Lac perched high on the hillside above the town with the whole of Gangtok below. From your room balcony, the lounge, or dining area a panorama of Gangtok dwellings extends before you - to the left and right stretching out to distant hills beyond which rise the Himalayas, with only the sky above. The rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and nicely furnished. The bedding is clean, the mattress good, the bed warm and comfortable. Di-Lac breakfast and meals can be taken in the dining area with that panoramic view - or can be taken in your room. Good wholesome food. A hidden gem of sikkim !! Highly recommend this place. Every details put out in this place is materpiece. Super friendly staff and lovely food. Thakali set meal and their pizza is a must try . location and the view from the rooms are incredible. Also if you do get chance look out for Mr Pradhan(owner) - absolute diamond !Will definitely come back

The location is good, shared taxis are available outside for 20 rupees to mg marg. The bed was comfy and sockets by the bed, shower was very hot, shampoo and toilet roll was provided.
