We only spent 1 night and 1 lunchtime in Borgarnes, so my experience was limited. We would have loved to stay longer and explore more! The walk along the seaside is beautiful and a great way to get around. The pool with its hot tubs is excellent - just go here and skip the pricey spas! The town feels so safe and there are some lovely bakeries and cafes. The Settlement Museum is well worth a visit!Guest review byAlexisUnited States - 4.0

Small uninteresting town. Better to continue on to Reykjavik or stay somewheres before like Bifrost. We ate at Baza Bistro just down from Hotel Borgarnes. It was great. Food good, very generous serves and friendly staff.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 10.0

This place was a gem of a find, fantastic scenery, and peaceful. The host was great and the cabin had everything we needed. The town is just fifteen minutes away for groceries etc. A bonus are the farmers dogs who come into the cabin deck and want to play or just have their tummy tickled. all the basic facilities, grocery store, nice french fusion restaurant in one of the hotels in town. starting point to major outdoor points (e.g. Snaefellsness national park, points north and inland). The city is the historical center of some of the early settlers so it was interesting to explore. It has a number of good restaurants and plenty of other amenities like gas stations. A good place to stay- friendly, clean, quiet, etc. The jacuzzi and sauna were a nice touch and enjoyed after a day of trekking and driving. Borgarnes is nearby for food and such. The Conti breakfast was great - lots of healthy and tasty choices, and the coffee was good. All in all, thumbs up!Guest review byMichaelCanada

From the location to the facilities and staff everything was luxury. I made a mistake with my Icelandic, got the word for anniversary wrong and mentioned honeymoon instead - was greeted with a very nice detail from the staff. The two nights here were amazing, the room was spacious with a great view, breakfast was plentiful and could even use the outdoors hot tub which uses hot spring water. Location is convenient and near to restaurants, with lots of parking available. There is also a restaurant within the hotel where pre-reservation is needed. Good choice especially during low period where some restaurants are not opened. Room is decently big and comfortable. Food served at breakfast are slightly different from others.
