Hellnar is the perfect location, close to all the major attractions on the peninsula and an ideal place to spend the night while soaking in the beauty of the landscape. There’s a charming little café just a few minutes from the Peninsula Suites that serves the best waffles with jam and whipped cream, an Icelandic classic. The views are truly out of this world, we’ve never seen anything like it. Cliffs, ocean, glacier, and moss all come together in the most breathtaking way. It’s an absolute must on your trip!

Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise.
Beautiful views of the sea, especially sunrise. Great mountain views. It was uncharacteristically cold and windy so no hiking but trails exist. Easy access to the national park with black beaches, lighthouses, lava tubes and volcano views. Nothing open in winter, you'll have to drive to Arnarstapi (5 minutes) or 30 min around the peninsula for any food or fuel.

Amazing location near the sea. Great view from the room. Really kind and helpfull staff. The waiters were professional and polite. The hotel is stylish and adapts to its environment. Modern but still maitaining tradition.

I had aproblem with my car at Hellnar, both of my car tyres went flat. The staff of foss hotel Hellnar helped me a lot. Very curtsious and helpful staff.
