I requested to have our breakfast packed and it was ready as per time I asked for it! There were 2 sandwiches, juice, fruit and crackers 😋, for me, it’s a huge breakfast portion.

The house was lovely, very clean and warm like a fairytale. The staff very friendly they gave us good instructions for how to find our house that was important for us because we arrived late at night. I highly recommend it especially if you want to visit the ice lagoon Jokusarlor because it is very close to it.

I spent only one night in this hotel but really enjoyed it. The bar area has a super cool view — the perfect spot to drink tea or wine on a rainy day in a cozy atmosphere. Rooms are clean, the food is good, and overall I definitely recommend this hotel.

What Guests Said About Hörgsland:

I don’t like anything. Worst was the attitude of the staff.

I don’t like anything. Worst was the attitude of the staff. No will to help and first asked for much higher prices than I could get for Booking.com. I asked why and got nonsense answers. The racism attitude was very irritating and humiliating. The bed was too low and difficult to get out of bed. I got the feeling that it was not clean and the floor was broken. It is very noisy and difficult to sleep when other people are walking around and the second night was worse and I got the feelings that I could hear people breathing in next room

Cottages are nice but small, living area has no heating.

Cottages are nice but small, living area has no heating. We had to leave after just one night as it was freezing. Bedrooms has a small heater which is sufficient as rooms are really small. In the leaving are there is an airconditioner which has the temprature set to 21 degrees and the managment will not turn it higher.

Great location for anyone driving along the south coast road and not wanting to drive all the way back to Reykjavik. We drove to Vestrahorn and jokuksarlon and back to here which broke up the driving. View is stunning. Lovely breakfast included. Beds comfy and communal areas have good facilities for drinks and fridge for food.

We really enjoyed out stay here!

We really enjoyed out stay here! The cabin is rustic, but was perfect for our purposes of visiting the Vatnajökull National Park during the days. We wanted a place with a kitchen so we could prepare our own meals, and this place had that! Also, it is really close to a small town where there was a grocery store. The internet connection was great for watching Netflix in the evenings. The water pressure in the shower was nice too. I think it was a great value for a place that sleeps 6! The view of the hillside behind the cottages was also pretty cool.

Very good location if you want to explore southeast of iceland. Magical place with spectacular rock formations, waterfalls and other nature wonders. There is just one restaurant in the town (+ some fast food in the petrol station) but you do not travel to such a place to experience some culinary wonders, so who cares?
