We enjoyed our stay at Fljotsbakki. The hotel is 3km away from the main road, so the environment is very calm and quiet. The barn is completely renovated and offers big rooms with all the accomodations needed to have a pleasant stay. A very positive experience!

The room was large and clean. The bed was comfy. The food was delicius and tasty. The bath was big enough for an adult male. And the staff...they got a 10+. Great service in the restaurant. And the view from the restaurant is amazing.

The room was modern and comfortable with a luxurious feel, the hotel was very quiet when I visited so very peaceful and the hot tub was always free. Beautiful setting up in the mountain looking over the water and town below. On a clear night I could see the northern lights very well from right outside, although they’re easy to miss if you’re looking for green lights.. they actually look more like clouds until you look through a camera! The hotel is a 45 min walk from the Forrest lagoon (highly recommended and also the burger van in the car park!) and a 1.5 hour walk from Akureyri centre, it’s a beautiful walk if you’re able, plus I saw seals and a humpback whale en route. I really enjoyed my stay here, really good value for money and I would deffo recommend.

Impressive view, warm and comfy private house. Super host and friendly team. Bathtub with a view on Akureyri is nothing but a dream! Fantastic value for money, especially compared to some overrated places in Akureyri or Vik.

Absolut stunning house with great interior and a private hot tub for each. Excellent setting and positioning on the northern part. Everythint is 30-45 min away. Highly recommended.
