Belluno is a stunning town.
Belluno is a stunning town. You are always surrounded by spectacular mountains and the beautiful turquoise colour of the river. Considering the size of the town there are many excursions available a short distance away and the local cuisine does not disappoint! There are many restaurants and cafes in close proximity to Piazza dei Martiri (Martyrs' Sq). While we were there we had the opportunity to experience the carbonara festival which was a delight! Small city, very well connected to other cities (2h with the train to Vienna), to ski resorts (45 min to Alleghe, 1h to San Pellegrino, 1.5h to Araba/Sella Ronda). The city has a small city center, good for walks and a good coffee, I totally recommend Japan House and La Trappola for eating, there is also a huge supermarket (Emisfero), a shoe shop (Pittarello), sport stores (Non Solo Sports and Kiwi), cosmetics shop (Tigota) and all these surrounded by beautiful mountains. Belluno is a lovely little town and the surrounding area has much to offer. I was there for work so little time to explore , Great ice cream at Novecento ( Astra hotel). It is a charming village, bigger than most in the area, but...
It is a charming village, bigger than most in the area, but some parts of the historic centre are in terrible disrepair. There are lots of bars and gelato shops, but too few restaurants that actually serve warm meals. Most good restaurants have all the tables reserved by locals in the evening, so it is a bit of a struggle to eat out on a whim. Also, the restaurants serve lunch and dinner according to a fixed schedule, so don't even think of having pizza or pasta at 4 or 5 in the afternoon!Guest review byCiprianRomania

The location is great just behind the main piazza and easy to get to from the train station, within walking distance. Loved the smell from the bakery coming from below. The rooms are clean, spacious and had been rennovated since I was here last. There was a generous breakfast selection. Staff were very friendly and took the time to get to know you. Lovely natural farm land setting and a true feeling of getting away without being far from the town centre in Belluno and the mountains. Apartments were well appointed with amazing mountain views. Nothing was too difficult for the most welcoming hosts in terms of hospitality, recommendations, and even assistance with pick up and drop offs.
