We spent one night at Ficodondia, and found the town of Sortino because of this B&B... Wanted to stay and experience real Sicily outside the large tourist area of Siracusa. Chiara the host/owner has put a lot of heart, work and great taste turning the place into a little hospitable gem inside a small Sicilian town. She promptly provided practical suggestions for parking within short walking distance from the house. The house is very neat, common kitchen well stocked with goodies, good food available for guests anytime. Including fresh tiramisu and red wine cake! We liked the place and the host very much, and do recommend others to choose it.

Once you get to this lovely place (it's best to do it by car), you'll want to stay there forever! Far from the noise, tourists and hectic cities, you immerse yourself completely in the atmosphere that surrounds you and in the local Sicilian spirit.
