Massive apartment on the top floor in the eves of the hotel. Bedroom had a jacuzzi in the bedroom (which we didn't use). We also used soda bed in the lounge/ kitchenette. Both beds were comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very nice room, bathroom and shared kitchen, all in great condition. The owners are very friendly and prepared us an amazing breakfast in the garden, with several jams and salame made by them! The location is beautiful.

Super host, very caring, friendly, nice tips on the beautiful environment. Super super breakfast. We had the cottage and it is fabulous. The pictures don't show how roomy it really is. Very nice bed, shower, kitchen, table, outside private terrace with only birds singing and bumblebees humming as a soundtrack. Stunning views. It is such a nice place to be. The area itself is typically volcanic ruffed. The house is very close to the famous Pietra Bismantova. We climbed it and saw snowtopped mountains of the Appenines and the whole area around for miles, visited a lovely mountain lake lago Calamone for example. Lots to see and do. Highly recommended!

We only went to Castelnovo for dinner in the evening.

We only went to Castelnovo for dinner in the evening. We always ate well at three different restaurants, all with good value. We particularly recommend Osteria da Geremia in the historic center, for its small, elegant atmosphere, superb tortelli, and excellent meat dishes. The staff is young and very friendly.

The owners are very friendly, English is difficult as I hardly speak Italian, but their willingness to communicate using Google Translate was unwavering and in the end I even got a cheese plate to go with the wonderful red wine, which, like the other very tasty food, was inexpensive.

Castelnuovo is a very ordinary town, winding along one road, with many bars and shops, a nice but unremarkable historic center. Its strength is the proximity of the Pietra di Bismantova, which is absolutely worth seeing and climbing because from the top there is an incredible view, a climb within everyone's reach.
