Absolutely marvellous location, the best for a peaceful natural holiday, incredible view on the lake and a very nice, clean, beautiful room. The whole town is incredible: so full of character and sightseeing natural jewels! The hostess - Manuela - was very hospitable and nice, helped us a lot to find sup board rental nearby and was very friendly and nice. I hope I will come back to this place, as it totally feels like paradise!

Very nice and clean place. The landlords were great - very nice couple, gave us some hints on what to do. The apartment was well equipped, there was even washing machine and a drier in the building. Wery good starting point if you travel by car.

The apartment was beautifully and tastefully decorated, the art, the furnishings, and even the extraordinary light fittings were all new and beautiful. There was one enormously large screen TV in the living room and one very large one in the bedroom. It was a wonderful experience to sit and watch TV with the fireplace for pellets on. There was a coffee machine for capsules and a kettle. Nothing was missing, right down even to a little bottle of olive oil and dish soap and beautiful little hospitality packets in the bathroom with earbuds and shower caps and even two pretty little jars with cotton pads for makeup removal. The towels were large and fluffy and the mattress was soft and comfortable. Amazing hospitality and attention to detail.

What a wonderful experience. From the moment I started interacting with Alice via email to the last meal, everything exceeded our expectations. The Bertola family welcomed us to their "village" as if we were part of the family. Our rooms were fantastic, and the food at the restaurant was some of the best we have experienced in Italy! We chose a very good hike with beautiful views that was very good for our abilities from: "https://visitlakeiseo.info/en/categorie_sport/trekking- and-walking/ ". We made meals at our apartment at "Paradise lake". Castro in it self was quite smaal so everything was in walking distance and the more important things could be found right next to Castro in Lovere such as buss tickets and tourist center.

A small, clean village with no particular attractions, it has a lovely lakeside promenade. A convenient and quiet stop on a tour of Lake Iseo, with the option of taking a ferry (especially to Monte Isola, which I highly recommend for a lovely trek).

Castro is small, well-maintained, and very quiet.

Castro is small, well-maintained, and very quiet. A lovely place to live. Lovere is more lively and also beautiful. However, the walk there shouldn't be underestimated, as it involves climbing the hillside and/or going around the factory grounds in between.

The location is excellent, with incredibly beautiful views from the large terrace. Because the apartment is located high up, you need to be able to walk well, especially since there is no parking space at the apartment and parking is very scarce in the area.

Parking is scarce in Castro, and in front of the hotel it's...

Parking is scarce in Castro, and in front of the hotel it's only available for a few hours at a time. It's best to go without a car. The promenade to the next town is interrupted by a huge steel processing plant. You have to go around the plant to get back to the waterfront promenade towards Lovere.

Excellent and quiet location, but requires awareness of two logistical issues that are not always welcome: 1- no elevator to the rooms on the upper floors (even up to the third floor) 2- the village is very quiet and overlooks the lake, but has no particular features, therefore trips to more popular nearby towns must be considered.

The apartment is spectacular, and the views from the balconies are as per the pictures. The apartment has been finished to a high standard and lacks nothing. Roberta was the perfect host and was always available when required. There is a garage and parking behind electronic gates. There are 3 great sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms the beds and pillows where very comfortable. Waking up to that view every morning was fantastic. It's a sort walk into castro, the hill is steep but manageable.

This is a beautiful spot. One problem, there is no bus to Costa, no train and no taxi. The hotel is approx 2.5 km from Lovere where the bus stops. So don’t take a lot of luggage. Our hosts were wonderful as we had big suitcases so they fetched us from the bus stop and took us back again. If you have little luggage, it is a pleasant half hour walk. One of the real gems of Italy on Lake Iseo. Fabulous.

A warm welcome, comfortable and clean room and great location. Nice restaurants nearby, a first floor patio and a common area with complimentary hot drinks. Great option for Castro and just a few minutes drive from a water sports centre.
