This is more of a hotel and not a hostel! The place was absolutely spotlessly clean. I had an excellent two nights' sleep and the room had everything you required; slippers, welcome pack, tea and coffee and kettle! There is a kitchen area where you can make yourself a range of hot drinks and use their water machine. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Volpedo is a delightful town with a tonne of history and cobbled streets. I would 100% stay again and the photos do not do the hotel justice.

When making this booking, I hesitated between the "Deluxe Double Room with balcony" and the "Superior Room". I'm so happy that we booked the Deluxe Double because it's the room that the owner artist formerly used for his studio. Sunlight streams through the windows and highlights the family photographs on the walls. Thanks to the extended check-in hours, we arrived at noon, went for lunch, and then had plenty of time to enjoy sitting on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden. We received a friendly welcome from Bobby and enjoyed talking with the delightful Gabriela during the delicious breakfast served on elegant china. If you're looking for an experience that's outside the normal, definitely book the Deluxe Double Room. That's what we plan to do the next time our travels take us near Tortona.
