We just stopped for one night on the way to France. We booked a room for 3 persons and the hotel was so kind to upgrade us to a lovely suite so it was extremely comfortable for us! I liked the staff kindness, from the women at the reception to the waiters. The room was superb and clean, and the terrace in front of the lake was exceptional. The location was also good. You can go for a nice walk, and you can also find places to have something. I strongly recommend the sunset... Finally, the breakfast buffet was tasty and varied. Therefore, it is a fully recommended hotel.

A really lovely town with a good range of shops from book shops to a perfumery. Loads of places to eat or just have a coffee and generally very reasonably priced. Our favourite cafe was in the area of the Tourist Information shop where we enjoyed watching the ducks and swans and looking at the boats. It's a very clean and well maintained town and a delight to wander around.

Lovely few days on Lago di Garda/Desenzano. The weather was great for walking and exploring (early November - 55-60F degrees). Plenty of tavernas/pizzerias and pastecerrie to grab breakfast /lunch/dinner. We enjoyed having a late afternoon drink in Piazza Malvezzi. It was offseason, so it was very quiet with few crowds (which was the appeal for us). We took a day trip to Sirmione, which was more crowded and touristy (Castello Scaligero and Grotte di Catullo were incredible sites to visit). Recommend this trip!

Really easy to get to from Verona airport. Beautiful views of the Lake and quick to get to Sirmione which is stunning but can get really busy with tourists. Desenzano town is lovely, lots of eateries, pretty streets, friendly people and beautiful views. The market on a Tuesday was really good, nice to walk around. Many things eg the castle etc are closed on a Monday. I was there 2.5 days which felt enough for me. This included a day in Sirmione. I explored the main sites and then spent a day in Verona on the way home, well worth a day trip or visit.

Fantastic location on the lake as close to all travel links and amenities. The ferries are central and run regular to other parts of the lake, the train station is not too far away and great for trips to Verona etc. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and events keep appearing on the weekends.

Desenzano is a great choice if you are looking to explore Lake Garda. Its a quieter, smaller town (less tourisy if you like) then some others around the lake, which is something we appreciated. Lots of restaurants and scenic spots. Also has larger supermarkets, shopping malls etc nearby. Beach was ok, pebbly and rocky, but water was very clean. Unfortunately the beach had a wasp problem, but most people didnt seem to mind.

Most of the restaurants are over priced and too touristy, especially round the port and main church square. We eventually found Osteria Vinoste, Via Roma, which is opposite the lido beach but you have to book in advance... lovely place and staff and we went back. There are some good other ones but we had only a few days. The lack of cash machines was disappointing, make sure to bring euros cash here (Boats, ice cream etc). None of the local buses were on time and we had to take a taxi each time to go to the train station as it's too far to walk with luggage... very unreliable especially the small city buses ;(( The trains however are very good everywhere. I recommend spending time in the Tourist Info inside the station as they have local maps and timetables and were very helpful ! there is an area arounf the Castle which did look very different, quieter with local restos, def. would stay there next time! And you can walk to the station !

Nice hotel very close to the centre of Desenzano. We stayed in the Venezia room, which was nice, had a comfy bed, a nice terrace with a partial view of the lake and good amenities (especially the AC). I must say that the owner of the Hotel was very kind and helped us a lot. We had a rainy day and there were no taxis available, and he was extremely helpful to get us to the destination. Very friendly staff and ok breakfast that will get you going for the day.

The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk from the famous beach in Desenzano and close to the center with shops and restaurants. We had a great room with access to the terrace and right next to the pool. The breakfast was very rich with a wide selection of everything. Excellent experience, I definitely recommend it for a wonderful stay in Desenzano.
