You can just soak up the history, not just in the 2000 year...

You can just soak up the history, not just in the 2000 year old Roman ruins of Herculeaum but also as you stroll through the lanes and passages of Ercolono itself, a wonderful town in it's own right.

It’s not the most beautiful town but the view from our...

It’s not the most beautiful town but the view from our appartment had beautiful views of the bay of Naples for a lot less than you pay in Sorrento. It’s a very good spot to catch the train to Pompeii ( the ruins are right beside Pompeii Scavi station change at Torre de Annunziata) Sorrento, Vesuvius and the stunning Herculaneum. There are plenty of great places to eat and a few volcanic sand beaches to relax after a long walk up a volcano. We enjoyed our pizzas at RoVi and walked into Portici for drinks at Vivarium’s rooftop bar and a fantastic seafood tasting menu at Da Guisieppe al Granatello

Nice area to walk around although many restaurants close in the afternoon and then open after 7pm. Some were closed for the summer season. There was some litter on the streets. People were very friendly and helpful.

We stayed 3 nights, and Ercolano was very convenient for visiting each of Pompeii, Ercolano, and Mt Vesuvio. We would suggest visiting both archeological sites as they provide complementary insights into Roman life and culture. A local guide by the name of Marily(Marialibera Guadagno) was recommended to us and she was brilliant. Having a private guide with her knowledge and humour added immeasurably to our experience.

I would’ve liked to stayed longer and the travel to Mt Versuvis was amazing and who, the view was amazing . I was disappointed I couldn’t hike due to a bung knee (tripped in the streets of Paris a few weeks before) so stayed at entrance waiting for my daughter to come back down. It was good though as I got to talking to other people. I’m from Australia and we drive on the other side of road and I really had to think which way to look before crossing a local fella saw me trying to cross and stepped out on to road and stopped the traffic just so I could cross😊 Go if you ever get the chance but be mindful it’s not a flat area. Tip: staying overnight was a bonus

The hotel is located just a very short walk to the entrance to Herculaneum. But, is also on the road which includes over 100 historic villas. So, the hotel is ideally placed for a visit to Ercolano. The staff were very helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. We had also used their parking facilities, which are just round the corner with easy access. The hotel rooms are smart, modern and clean and made for a very pleasing base to explore the town. I can very much recommend a stay here.

Met by owner and introduced us to the room. Lots of space and very very comfortable. Good bed and bathroom facilities. Lots of space. Little kitchenette came with food for breakfast, snacks and hot drinks. Close to ruins (10 minute walk). Parked on site and left car there all day. Restaurants nearby were very good. Owner helped book us a table at the nearby one as it was quite late at night when we arrived (delayed flight). Felt very safe walking around.

Great central location, near the train station (3-5 min, direction Pompeii or Naples), 5 min to Ercolano ruins entrance, next to cafes and patisseries. The host is nice and place is clean. Wifi is great and breakfast is available in cafe nearby. You will find fridge, botteld water and coffe in the room. Ercolano is definetely worth the visit and you should try street food (La maison de la pizza - rosticceria)

Great room in the palazzo, not far from the station Ercolano Scavi. Near a number of restaurants also, and a 10,15 minute walk to the Ercolano/Herculaneum excavations. Great room, lots of space, and the possibility to use the kitchen and make use of the terrace at the back. Great staff, wonderful and kind Emanuele! The train to Naples takes about 25 minutes.
