An Italian Masterpiece

Best-known for the stunning Duomo, Florence is full of amazing buildings and its historic center. The Ponte Vecchio, a 14th-century bridge holding a multitude of shops on its edges is a stunning example and provides a truly unforgettable view.

Dig into more of the city’s historical past at the Basilica of Santa Croce, a Franciscan church full of great artwork and the burial place of Italian greats: Michelangelo and Galileo. The Uffizi Gallery is one of the world’s finest art museums and the Pitti Palace is not far behind.

For great dining, the Santa Croce district has countless options and the unique lampredotto is Florentine fast-food with a 1000-year old history. Many consider the local gelato, Italian ice-cream, to be the best in the world.

The beauty and flavours of Florence are just a 15-minute train ride from the Amerigo Vespucci International Airport. Whether you’re looking for a room with a view at a cosy B&B, a luxury hotel or an intimate guesthouse, Booking.com has the perfect accommodation for your Florence adventure.

Firstly, DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLORENCE!

Firstly, DO NOT DRIVE INTO FLORENCE! It was an absolute nightmare! Motorcycles and electric scooters zipping in and out of the cars. It was the same on the sidewalks, with electric scooters and bikes weaving in and out of all the people! I thought one of us was going to get run over at any moment!!!! This was my 3rd trip to Florence and never have I seen so many crowds! It was the middle of Oct., which I thought would be better, but it wasn't. We booked a tour at the Uffizi Gallery and there were so many people you could hardly walk up to the paintings.

If you are an art lover you must visit the Uffizi and Palazzo Pitti. But Florence was very crowded try to go in the low season, if there is one. There are many good value restaurants. Use the tram to get around.

Great city for walking around in with so many places to explore. Autumn was a good time to go to avoid the heat and too many crowds. South of the river was a great place to stay - easy access to the centre but not as touristy, more local. Highly recommend the Rennaissance: Medici tales tour as a starting point for your trip. A day trip to Siena is worth it if you have time. Overall, wonderful food and great coffee, friendly people.

The main tourist attractions can be very crowded with long queues so it is well worth buying "skip the queue" tickets particularly for the Uffizi - where there's so much to see that it's worth spending at least 4 hours with a mid-visit break in the restaurant to re-energise. The general standard of restaurants is good and it's worth making bookings at your favourites during busy periods. To escape the crowds and find the best views we like to cross the Arno and climb via Piazza Michelangelo to San Miniata - quite a climb but well worth it. We usually walk back to the centre via the inner ring road and Boboli Gardens and/or Pitti Palace.

The most beautiful city.

The most beautiful city. Very walkable and so much to see and do. Definitely pre book the main attractions (like the Duomo cathedral package €30 on the official website) and do the dome visit early on your first day. We did the clock tower the next day as the stair climbing was a lot! You have 3 days to do the 5 places so plenty of time. We didn’t do the Cathedral visit ( the line was crazy long) but we had seen the interior when we did the Dome visit. Make sure you have a raincoat or umbrella and good walking shoes. We ate at the San Lorenzo market most days - great variety and value for money.

This was our best stay in Italy! So happy to have stayed here, it is a very chic and modern hotel with all the bits and pieces. Feels like a 5 star experience, well priced and so central. Staff are lovely, rooms are immaculate, ans bar is a real vibe. We would stay here without hesitation next time we are in Florence and we are pleased to hear they are opening more locations across Italy. This is the place you want to stay, it is in a prime location and you will enjoy the stay as it hits all the marks 10/10.

This is the hotel I'm most satisfied with during my trip to Italy. It's not located in the city center, but the transportation is very convenient. We came by car and there's a large parking lot nearby, which costs about 10 euros a day. The hotel is also very close to the tram stop. The room is very beautiful and spacious, the paintings on the ceiling are amazing and all the decorations are carefully matched. The staff are very enthusiastic, staying here makes me feel comfortable.

The David hotel in Florence is an absolute gem! The cleanliness is impeccable, and the antique furniture adds a unique charm that transports you to another era. The food is delicious, and the happy hours with complimentary drinks and tasty snacks are a delightful treat. The staff is incredibly polite and attentive, making you feel truly welcome. This place isn't just a hotel; it's a paradise! We can't wait to return. Truly one of the best hotels in Italy. Grazie mille!!!

The hotel's location was perfect for us to enjoy the city. Our room was small, but that was expected. I think paying a little extra to have a room with a view facing the church was worth it. All of the staff were kind. Breakfast was a bit pricier compared to what we paid at other places, but it was good. We visited three other cities after leaving Florence, and this hotel turned out to be the best and our favorite during our trip to Italy!

The location of this hotel is excellent. The Duomo is two minutes away. The room is quite spacious and the bathroom is very modern with rituals products. It was definitely the nicest room we had during our week stay in Italy. The staff were very nice and helpful, giving us recommendations for restaurants to try. They stored our bags while we explored Florence before our train.
