Many good restaurants, great beach, fab beach bar, nice shops, some interesting historical buildings, easy access to fantastic coastal walk and cycle path, easy access to the Cinque Terre villages. Everything within an easy stroll. Can be lively in places if you want, or quiet if you prefer. Feels authentically Italian without being overly touristy. Convenient for Ferry and rail travel to other parts of the Italian Riviera and Cinque Terre. Levanto is the next town north of Cinque Terre.
Levanto is the next town north of Cinque Terre. The train that runs between the five towns, actually starts in Levanto so you can easily visit all the towns, and the trains also run to La Spezia where you can connect to many other parts of Italy. There are many restaurants, a fairly large beach, and you have many choices for hikes, walks, or rent a bike and ride through the tunnels. Levanto was the best place to anchor a visit to Cinque Terre. After visiting each of the small towns, we found Levanto to be a good place to return to in the evenings. Being a bigger town, there were a lot more options available for everything: groceries, restaurants, beach, gelato!, laundry, etc. It was a very friendly family centered community. Levanto is a lively town with numerous restaurants particularly serving fresh fish and even some outdoor night time entertainment. Perfect location from which to explore the Cinque Terre villages and walks. Excellent transport links (train and ferry) to Cinque Terre villages and beyond …Pisa.. Good place to stay if you wanna travel to Cinque Terre.
Good place to stay if you wanna travel to Cinque Terre. Cheaper and less crowded than Cinque Terre, but just 20 mins by train to go to Monterosso, or hiking from Levanto to Monterosa is also the good way, and you don’t need to pay for that trail. The trail is not easy (10km) but doable and not as crowded as others trails in Cinque Terre.Guest review byTuFinland - 10.0
I really enjoyed the beach at levanto and the night life was...
I really enjoyed the beach at levanto and the night life was exciting, every evening the had organised some kind of a event . The most exciting part was the bicycle ride along the galerie levanto- bonassola. Also the punta della madonna ( chiesetta madonnino della punta ) was reachable with a cycle. The Hotel owner and his sister were wonderful hosts as were the ladies at breakfast which was very typical Italian simple but very filling. Couldnt fault the Hotel at all the friendlyness of the staff was great couldnt do enough to make our stay enjoyable.
