The city is wonderful. However, the locals can be very rude. They bump into you on the street without apologizing, step on your shoes, and simply don’t care. The traffic is chaotic, and at pedestrian crossings, you really have to watch out for cars. Pedestrian right of way is often ignored.

Rome is one of my favourite cities in the world 😊

Rome is one of my favourite cities in the world 😊 Very busy walkable city- so much to see. Monuments, basilicas, piazzas, history, the city has everything. Very pretty at night with the buildings and monuments uplit. Stay centrally in the heart of the old city so you can walk everywhere. The airport and Port are far away from the city. You will need to get a taxi or arrange transportation in advance for a group. If you’re planning to visit Vatican City to see the Sistine Chapel or have an audience with the Pope you need to book well in advance. Tickets are required and you will be standing in line even with tickets. To enter St Peter’s Basilica which is free the lines can take hours so be prepared for very long waiting times. Carry water and snacks- there’s no shops where you stand inline. Bring comfy walking shoes- the cobblestones can be slippery in the wet. Check the prices and hidden charges in the restaurants before you sit down. Sometimes they have additional taxes, charges, service fees which will be added to the bill. Some cafes charge extra to sit down and cheaper to take away. Traffic is horrendous so allow plenty of time if you’re on the road. They have a Metro line and a railway line though we used neither of them. Plenty of eateries open all day - it’s expensive to eat in Europe!!

Rome is such a beautiful city that is so rich with culture and architecture As well as this, the city comes to life at night with shops open and restaurants coming to life You can walk most places - there are sight seeing busses that are easy but we found the public transport buses easy to use and much cheaper The metro was a bit complicated to pay for but is simple enough to navigate You can't go wrong with any of the places to eat but we enjoyed a wonderful, high price point, meal at ALMORO - the oldest Roman restaurant in Rome (?) I definitely recommend but you should book and dress nicely - the staff here were very professional and attentive to our needs - this was a special birthday meal and was memorable I recommend seeing the Trevinos fountain in daylight and at night The Pantheon is a must - definitely pay to go inside - we got there as it opens and the queues were minimal I loved every moment and will return!

Basically there were too many people everywhere when we were in the center. Otherwise, everything was fine. Using the public transportation was really easy and we enjoyed eating in places a bit outside of the center.

The city is easy to navigate if you don't mind doing a little bit of walking. Every where you turn around, some history is looking back at you. I was fortunate enough to be there on the first Sunday of the month and benefited from the free admission to museums and the Colesium. The graffiti around the city is an eye sore but not enough to take away from a wonderful experience.

This was the most perfect hotel for my last night in Rome before Italy. The location was fantastic, the staff were amazing and so helpful, the room was gorgeous and I loved having a balcony and the rooftop terrace was heaven and exactly what I pictured for my last night in Roma. I’m so happy I stayed here and the breakfast looked amazing but I just settled for coffee and juice as had to get on a bus. I would absolutely stay here again as I will be back to see Roma as I’m in love with this city!

It was the best hotel we stayed in throughout Italy. Hotel Everest Inn - Rome was the best compared to our hotels in Milan, Florence and Naples. The room was a great size for 2 people, bright and clean including the bathroom. The staff at reception, including Ivan were very helpful and friendly and also allowed us to freshen up after we checked out and had to come back for our luggage. We also had free coffee and croissants in the morning. We definately would book this hotel again.

- lovely staff (Alberto is great, very helpful and nice) - location is close to train station (easy to get to/from airport) and metro (easy to get to/from most attractions in Rome, and the Termini train station if you plan on visiting other cities in Italy), and a short walk to Vatican - breakfast (yes, it is from the nearby La Siciliana cafe, and yes it is 1 croissant and coffee) is the BEST, it's so good we even went there for things other than breakfast

Convenient location. A rare (in Italy) small balcony (nice to have a little outdoor spot to take in a bit of fresh air) Contemporary, clean decor. A reasonable amount of surface/storage space compared to some of the hotels we experienced in Rome Decent value for the money at this time of the year in Rome
