For us it was perfect.

For us it was perfect. Small, quiet hilltop village with a small, ancient core. Little church at edge of village is very interesting. Close to all the "tour book" sights in northern Tuscany, but you will need a car. Only a couple eating spots in the village, but many other options within 15 minutes. Stayed 3 nights at the end of a 15 day trip, so we were a little tuckered out and the village was a perfect relaxing home.

Beautiful village with good restaurants, but also able to shop at a supermarket down the hill. Need a car to venture out but could easily stay and relax. Market on Fridays. Very glad we stayed here and did day trips rather than amongst the thousands of others in the main cities. The Tuscan restaurant in the centre is in the Michelin guide, but the others also good.

San Donato is a quaint medieval village within the Chanti...

San Donato is a quaint medieval village within the Chanti wine region. You will need a car if you plan to visit as public transportation is not readily available and you will want that car to visit the beautiful surrounding areas! Highly recommend what seems to also be a local's favorite, L'Ospitale del Pellegrino for morning coffee and breakfast, or aperitivo in the afternoon. Here you will meet tourists and locals (mostly) and enjoy friendly conversation in a welcoming atmosphere. They also have a deli where you can purchase items to cook yourself at your B&B. For dinner, La Locanda di Pietracupa stands above some of the other options. Wonderful food and service and a beautiful patio. As for things to do, I either walked around the village or drove to neighboring wine regions like Castellina, Panzano or Greve. But take some time to hang out in centro in San Donato and get to know the people! That's the best part about visiting a small town like this one.

Gorgeous and very spacious 1st floor apartment in a beautiful, historic village with views over Tuscany. The building and most around it originally c. 800 years old. The host was generous (local wine awaited us, helped with laundry), responsive and went above and beyond. Clean and tidy. Wineries, supermarkets, cafés, bars and restaurants all walking distance from the apartment and parking around 50m away for free. Very well located for Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and in the heart of Chianti region.

What an amazing place. The apartment itself is beautiful and very well equipped. The village of San Donato is magical. It's like being on a movie set. Very good restaurants around. You have to try "La Locanda di Pietracupa" 5 min drive from the apartment. It's a great base to explore the region from Florence to Siena, from San Gimignano to Panzano, and all the small beautiful villages and wineries. Thank you, Leonardo, for your hospitality.

the house has all the conforts (most of the time we were outside but it would be possible to cook and to keep things in the fridge). It is well located in the middle between Siena and Florence. Very nice village with some top facilities and restaurants: bar il poggio, la toppa restaurant. The cinema at the ARCI circle is at 50 mt from the house

A really nice villa in the middle of Tuscany - a perfect base to explore all around. The apartments are spacious and well furnished, there is free parking and a charger if you drive an electric, a store is 5 minutes away, as well as a couple of nice bars and restaurants. Giada is the best host and will take care of you. :)
