FAQs about hotels in Verona

A Shakespearean Fairytale

A darling of Shakespeare, beautiful Verona is the literary home of Romeo and Juliet. The medieval families of Montague and Capulet immortalized in the tragic play did actually exist and some buildings relating to the Montagues are still present.

Sorry to disappoint, but the place purporting to have been Juliet's house in Verona was not actually where she lived. However, it’s still worth suspending reality for a while and stepping out onto the balcony to see if Romeo turns up.

Another of the must-see Verona sights is the Arena, a largely intact Roman amphitheater which is now the spectacular setting for outdoor summer operas. Smaller Roman relics include the stone bridge that crosses the river by the Roman theater whose remains are partly beneath a house.

The city’s narrow streets house many cafes and restaurants which have cheaper fare than the touristy ones by the Arena, although admittedly the views are less impressive. Life in Verona is laid back and elegant, so expect to see some well-heeled Italians on a post-dinner passeggiata.

Verona Airport is a little out of town, so you’ll need to take a bus to get to your Verona hotel, apartment or B&B. Book with Booking.com for the best choice.

Very nice little town, with beautiful little streets and squares, great food and nice people! Many places to shop and go for a walk, beautiful and warm weather in early November. We would definitely come back for a longer vacation!

Amazing architecture, good food and breathe taking landscape. After visiting all the 4 big cathedrals, climb on the top of the biggest hill and enjoy the view. The best deal for food and drinks it think are the small shops near the Funicolare, at the end of the Ponte Pietra bridge. With 20 euro 2 people can eat and drink really good food and a quite a large Aperol.

I love Verona.

I love Verona. I learned that it is full of tourists during summer. During autumn, it’s not crowded, you can see Verona in four hours and that time includes a lunch, a slow paced walk to admire the sights.

It was a surprise of a city filled with rich history I had never known. Bonus visit because of last minute inexpensive tickets to see opera at the historic teatro. People in the area were so nice, and we ate extremely well. I've shared with my family and friends. You won't be disappointed

Verona is a hidden gem, not as famous as other cities in Italy, yet it has a bit for everyone. Great historical sites, a lot of culture (Opera year-round), great for foodies, amazing shopping. It is not a big place and you can get around on foot. Close to other lake Garda for day trips, and Gardaland for kids. It is definitely worth a visit for a few days or longer. I have visited twice, but I would definitely be coming back

Verona is a beautiful city, but I feel that no matter what time we go there, there are still a lot of tourists. The city is crowded, there is a long wait for attractions, such an Italian classic :) What surprised me a little, the food was a little worse, for example, than in Florence. Maybe I just had a bad choice of restaurant. It's not so bad early in the morning, but the views are better in the early evening :).

The room was good and the one we had last time. The location is excellent for Verona Porta Nueva Railway Station and the 199 Airport bus. Sylvia on reception is a real card with a very good sense of humour. Francesco on reception was very helpful as well. Abraham on overnight reception was very conscientious and he too is a real asset to the hotel. Incidentally, we were only passing through this time and we had no breakfast on site.

The Boutique Touring Hotel is recently extensively renovated and the rooms are very well equipped and in excellent condition. The room was surprisingly large and very comfortable with modern , stylish fit out. The windows are double glazed and the air conditioning was effective. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice. The hotel is located in the old part of Verona in a reasonably quiet area but a short walk to the busy shopping areas and the Piazza Bra.

A perfect place to stay in Verona. Just over 10 minutes walk to the Arena, but a really quiet and beautiful old area that felt more like some small country town. The building and the facilities were exceptional, and had far more character than some modern hotel. Françoise, our host, was friendly and helpful, and can organise a car from or to the airport. Very highly recommended.
