Armando's enormous hospitality and charisma was a true highlight of our stay. His passion for his region and culture was absolutely inspiring and helped us to learn more about Sicily. The house was stylish and well-maintained with a beautuful big terrace (offering a lovely panorama!) that was a wonderful extension of the indoor space, perfect for relaxation. Armando was not only a great host, but also an amazing chef. Breakfast was simply amazing, tasty and fresh, we loved that he used local and seasonal ingredients from his garden to make it. We would highly recommend staying at At Armando's Home to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Sicily. With Armando's hospitality, cosy apartments, and delicious breakfast, you're sure to have an unforgettable experience. Thank you, Armando! The apartment is modern, new and stylish. There are 4 guest rooms with a shared space for kitchen, which is fairly well equipped. We liked our ensuite room which had an entry to an inner garden courtyard. Everything was well done, the hosts have a good eye for design and style. The wifi was good. You would need a car - we had a hire one to go up to Rifugio Sapienze to climb Etna and this was an ideal base. Caterina is a warm and welcoming host who kindly gave us some nice treats for our journey as we left.

Breakfast is served in an authentic traditional dining room, where you can admire a wood-fired oven once used for baking, cooking, and heating. The breakfast itself was truly fresh — warm bread and pastries, amazing olive oil made by the host, mozzarella, about seven different kinds of honey, and excellent coffee with no limits. I also really appreciated the very accommodating self check-in late after midnight. Right in front of the accommodation begins the access road to Mount Etna. Unfortunately, we didn’t have good weather — heavy fog and rain made it unsafe to continue to the summit — so we turned back. But we’ll definitely return another time and stay at the same place again.

This is a nice little town on the slopes of Etna and is...

This is a nice little town on the slopes of Etna and is especially convenient for visiting the Volcano. It is also close to the eastern coast of Sicily and its beaches whilst various tourist attractions are nearby. A car is almost essential though as public transport from the town is only by bus.

Bad: - Beds were very uncomfortable. - Toilet creaked and wobbled when you sat down. - Small fridge was musty and never really worked. - walls were thin, you could hear people talking clearly - food was ok but not astounding Good: -Dinning room/ breakfast area was gorgeous, I would return for the views while eating meals. - View from shared balcony was amazing. - Blinds were so impressive they could make a supernova go unnoticed. - great parking

The area is very interesting, with quite a lot to discover. The best way is getting a tour to understand the volcano and the whole area, how do they live and profit from the volcano. We visited also Parco Avventura Etna, fabolous fun for a family!

Perfect location to visit Etna, as it's in the middle...

Perfect location to visit Etna, as it's in the middle between the south side and the north side of the mountain. Small town but has all necessary shops, excellent restaurants and a beach (we didn't visit the beach as we were there for Mount Etna). Easy to drive anywhere and explore the area from there.
