I do have to say the staff were what actually saved this hotel for me. They were so incredibly friendly I was baffled. They even drove me to abashiri prison when I was waiting for the bus, and were just really warm and welcoming. The room itself was really spacious too, and people here say it wasn't clean, which I did not really notice to be honest, though it was not like squeaky clean maybe.

I spent 2 weeks in Hokkaido in different parts of the island but this is my favourite place to stay at. The facilities are nice, the host and family are so friendly and the food are better than any restaurant that you could go to in Hokkaido. This is a Toyoka Inn: in our couple of weeks holiday they have become a favourite. At this one we could get a queen size room, which is a lot better than the economy room. For the first time with Toyoko, I have a very petty grievance: the pillow didn't suit me. Apart from that: great staff, great breakfast, clean. Just a wonderfully reliable chain hotel. Price is usually good or very good. Parking is sometimes free, sometimes paid. We have become lazy and just choose Toyoko Inn if there's one in the town we want to visit.

Well...what can I say? This farm house is one of a kind. Beautiful. Beautiful in and out of the house. I slept in the second floor dormitory hall with two Japanese couples and it was very clean and the common area was spacious. All the small figures are cute and beautiful. Electrical outlets everywhere. The landlady was so kind. The kitchen area is beautiful. Big bathroom with big bathtub. And the surroundings. The scenery was out of the description. Don't miss this beautiful farmhouse if you visit Abashiri.

Good sized room for Japan with a nice view across the river. Coffee machine in the lobby and small table with two chairs means you can comfortably have coffee in your room. Close to Abashiri JR station and rental car outlets with free parking.
