We used this hotel as a base for our hikes into the mountains in summer. It is perfectly located for this. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable and were able to advise us for the best walks we had in all of Japan. Apart from that, we had the best food of our whole stay in Japan here in this hotel!

The house is just beautiful inside. So comfortable and with many amenities provided. I'm not sure but I believe we were the first guests at this listing. It feels like a family home that has been renovated to convert it for guests. Coffee, bottled water, some games were provided, toiletries, detergent, fever patches for a child, and many other little things. Very good security on the house, whether or not it's actually needed. The kitchen is small but full, and I really mean full, all manner of kitchen utilities provided if you want to do cooking. The washer/dryer actually does dry your clothes too, unlike many of these combo models. And the whole place is so spacious. We were two adults and a seven year old. There's a living room, a Japanese style room with tatami and very tasteful decorations, the kitchen, a foyer, the toilet room, the bathroom sink and laundry room, and the bath/shower room. Upstairs there were two bedrooms we used and I think the host can open up another bedroom if the party booking the place is larger. I could go on about all the great little things about this house. Just book it and you'll see for yourself. I only hope I can still afford it next time, as it was such a good deal this time. From the outside the house is nondescript, on the corner across from the Kumon, with one parking space. The host speaks reasonable English which is very helpful and we appreciated that. The location is fine. It's in the middle of Biei. There's a big grocery store nearby and the train station isn't far. If you drive there's a parking spot, and you can easily access everything in the area. It's more convenient than staying in Asahikawa. Please do respect the host and the house. Keep it beautiful.

The host was so lovely and kind! Breakfast every morning was an absolute treat. The place was so cosy and quite. We took trips to fukiage onsen every other day which was magical. Although we drove, there is a train station right by the house which could allow for easy public transport. Overall this was by far the best airbnb I've ever stayed in. Thank you!

Biei was central for where we wanted to go - cycling to see...

Biei was central for where we wanted to go - cycling to see autumn leaves, Mt Asahidake Ropeway and Shirogane Blue Pond. One, there are a few bicycle rental shops in close proximity (all are similarly priced). Unless you are young and fit and ambitious, you will NOT be able to pedal the power-assisted bicycle to ALL the recommended places. We set aside 4 hours to comfortably visit 4 places. (Please set to the lowest assist mode if you want the battery to last for 4 hours). Two, the drive up to Mt Asahidake was magical as it started to snow. We were hoping it will not snow too heavily for the drive down. The snow was too blinding for even a short hike. (The forecast was accurate). Three, if one has the time, one should visit Shirogane Blue Pond in the daytime and night time. We arrived (5 pm) just as the last tourist bus was leaving. Twenty minutes are ample for a few rounds of the night lighting.

Travel books and blogs talk of Biei's famous Blue Pond, Shiragano Waterfalls, Takushinkan, various famous trees and observatories. But Biei is much more than that. It is a perfect scenic, serene getaway from busy city life. You don't actually need to plan and follow your itinerary to the point. Just roam around, whether on bicycles or in a rented car. Soak in the brisk air. Fumble into random cafes and restaurants. Biei is just so humble and modest, and yet very satisfying.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a wonderful experience. It’s conveniently located near Biei train station and offers free parking. The hotel has two floors, with all rooms on the second level. My room was clean, spacious, and included a large bathtub, The hotel also provides bicycle rentals, great for exploring the area. Breakfast at the small cafeteria was tasty and a nice start to the day. Overall, this hotel offers excellent amenities and a convenient location. Highly recommended!

Yamashita was so nice and so helpful. The actual house is something out of a dream. In the winter cold, this place had two forms of heaters to keep me warm. Highly recommend this place if you need a base to stay in near Biei. It was definitely the highlight of my Japan trip so far in terms of accomodations!

The room was spacious. Breakfast was tasty. The owners were friendly and kind. Located in a nice quiet area not too far from the central area of Biei. Able to borrow some electric bicycles was definitely a plus
