The best stay in Chikatsuyu! It was the first stay on our Kumano Kodo trail, and it was the very good choice. The host was really nice to us and other guests. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable for stay of 2 people. There is everything you need to have a good rest before the next day of hiking trail. The host cooked amazing dinner and breakfast for us - we tried really good Osaka-style okonomiyaki, Japanese curry and a lot of another things. Also he prepared good lunch boxes for the trail.

A very lovely house inside a small village, not too far from the stamp location. The house is clean and cozy with a very beautiful view. The owner is also very friendly and helpful, a very good stop during the Kumano Kodo trip.

The host was so kind and accommodating! I arrived very early and she still allowed me to check in to my room. Despite limited english she made effort to use phone to translate. Bento dinner was lovely. Highly recommend.

- The host Hiroko. She gives personalized attention. She made me feel at home and taken cared of. It was great to make friends with her especially as a foreign solo traveler. - The thoughfully prepared welcome tea, sumptuous dinner, and hearty breakfast to fuel a day's hike. - The room – very cozy. - The bathroom. It has a tub that was good to soak in after a long day of hiking. - Proximity to the grocery store and restaurant.

Confortable, authentic , spotless. Shino is a wonderful host who takes care of all the details. She is always responsive and helped us find our way in the Kumano Kodo trail. Also her cooking is amazing, make sure you include her meals.

The whole house was arranged in an excellent and thought out manner. Cleanliness was outstanding. Entering was extremely simple. The kitchen was well equipped. My wife and I loved staying there. If you are walking the Kumano Kodo it is important to be aware that this place is a good 45 min steep hike away from the main path. While the hike is mostly on a road, it is a small one with very little traffic and local drivers are very mindful of hikers. There is a good supermarket about 5 min away walking distance.
