Nice accommodation just a bit outside of Miyako. If you travel by car, it's a good option to stay and explore the coastline of Iwate. All amenities you need, good breakfast, friendly staff.

The hotel is not large nor particularly luxurious, but it exudes a refined quality. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. The bathhouse — in terms of space, view, and water quality — is truly enjoyable. In the evening, we unexpectedly heard the okami (proprietress) share her personal experience with this hotel during the 3/11 tsunami, which was deeply moving. It gave us a deeper understanding of that disaster and became an unexpected highlight of our trip. We would love to visit again if we have the chance.

I came out of the train station and headed for the Tourist Information Office but I missed the TIO and turned into the next door and was completely surprised because it was the entrance to my hotel. It cannot get more convenient than that. I do not speak Japanese and I am deeply grateful to a member of the hotel staff who took time to use the hotel telephone to get me a reservation to the wind phone and even took the time to print out information in English about it. Traveling alone I found it reassuring to feel so well taken care of.

Loved this hotel. The view is absolutely amazing, rooms very spacious and comfortable (we had Western beds, neither too hard nor too soft), onsen is great and super clean, good buffet for breakfast and dinner with very fresh fish (though no Western options except bread at breakfast) , staff are lovely. We had 6bnights and were really sorry to leave. Great location foe various jikes along the Michinoku trail

I stayed longer than I intended. The little town radiates peacefullness. And so does this guesthouse. I felt so comfortable and respected here. I was so perfectly treated I just wanted to stay longer. I actually did. And I want to go back. Live at the end of the world again, feel that small measure of peace again.
