The most amazing location - it's in the middle of the woods and next to a river - the location is simply amazing! Wish we stayed there longer. The smell of the pine trees, the forest and the river is probably the highlight of the stay. The location is very peaceful and you can see the stars properly if you go for a night walk. Well equipped - small kitchen with all you need for cooking, fridge, TV. Short drive to Tairyuji Ropeway

Fabulous hotel in the countryside by a river. There's nothing much around it, but everything you need is inside - restaurant, shop, vending machines, and of course, the onsen. Our room was large, with a view over the river. The restaurant had many options for dinner and was inexpensive, and the food was delicious. The included breakfast was also great.

I really appreciated the attention to the details, after a long day walking I was so tired and the bath was already been prepared for me and I just had to enjoy it. The room was really comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains and the river.

Koku is exceptional. The staff are particularly accommodating, especially as I requested the dinner bundle late. Its location is perfect for walking Henro, and the excellent Ofuro is a superb offering for tired legs and feet. Dinner and breakfast meals are top-notch, delicious and bountiful. Overall a superb ryokan, very highly recommended.

It's a great place to stay, especially as a rest stop on the Henro walk. It's very quiet, walking distance from the temple, local places to eat or grab things from the convenience store. Nothing to dislike here.

The host was exceptionally friendly and his place was beautiful decorated with the best futon and soft floor. And as an extra, he speaks very good English which makes everything so much easier. I can’t recommend this place enough

My one night stay at Kanchentai - tiny house was amazing! The host had prepared everything for my arrival. The tiny house is equipped with everything you need for cooking and dining. You have a beautiful outdoor deck and dining table to enjoy the warmer weather. The bed was so comfy, and there is Alexa, a bluetooth speaker and projector for entertainment. Free wifi was great and I was able to get some work done. You have access to the vegetable garden if you need and the host gave me some great advice for exploring hiwasa. I was also able to use the Parking which was very handy as I was on a roadtrip. Overall a beautiful, delightful stay. I was pleasantly surprised.

Mari is an exceptionnal hostess. The food she serves is just amazing: locally grown, a feast for all the senses and prepared with love. This cannot be surpassed! She waved me goodbuy at the pier of the ferry with music! She makes that Shikoku is a wonder-ful place to stay for the henros.
