Very nice city, plenty of historical sights, shopping, restaurants. Make sure it is not a national holiday though, the local train was absolutely packed! Many people make the trek to ride the nostalgic Enoden Electric Line, a fun trip along the coast but crushing crowds on a Sunday before a holiday.

Kamakura has lots to offer if you like hiking and water sports. I did a hike to the great Buddha and also went for a run through the city and on the mountain. The wind was perfect for wind surfing and having a nice time on the beach.

Very nice views and calm vacation vibe. We enjoyed swimming in the sea and watching surfers every day. Easy to get to beautiful temples nearby and Enoshima. We would like to come again and stay for longer time

It’s a small city, yet popular with tourists thanks to its blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. While some spots can get quite crowded, those who enjoy hiking can escape the crowds by booking a local guide and exploring the mountain trails. These paths lead to hidden shrines and temples, offering not only a peaceful atmosphere but also stunning views.

One week was the perfect way to enjoy the town and explore temples and shrines...and cute cafes! We recommend taking a walking tour to get a feel for the town and learn temple etiquette, etc.. In addition, we tried a few experiences - kintsugi golden joinery, woodcarving, and indigo dyeing. It was wonderful to meet the artisans and work with them (even though we are not terribly artistic!). Kamakura never fails when it comes to food - especially Japanese and Italian restaurants, and gelato!

The Hase-dera Shrine and the Great Buddha are awe-inspiring and accessing them by local train is easy. By far the most beautiful shrine we have seen in our travels. Some fabulous restaurants and a great breakfast spot near the beach. Enoshima Island is also worth a visit.

Best accomodation in Japan so far. Ive been to great hotels but overall this house and atmosphere is amazing . The living room is truly Japanese style with tatami so you can experience how it is to live there for more than an hour. Location is good for the beach and close to Hase station of Enoshima line. Also bus 11 for Fujisawa passes nearby. It’s very clean for what’s important bedding towels, overall. Also the guests happened to be amazing when I was there. Quiet friendly sporty. The person that manages the rent is amazing.

The house is beautiful. It reminds us of the old Japanese house from the movie. It's very big and wisely planned. We're a family of four and it doesn't feel crowded at all. It's perfect if you come with family or a big group of friends. The house is right next to the beach. It gives a real feel of being in Kamakura.

One of the best stay during my trip in Japan! Everything is amazing here and matches my expectations. It’s a perfect choice for a family as well as friends. Also the household is so nice and understanding. Next time in Kamakura I will definitely book it again.

A truly Japanese style hotel, situated close to train station. Small hotel. Individual attention given to quests. A Wonderful experience. Rooms are big & easily accommodated 3 people. Our room had a balcony which was a plus. Japanese breakfast served.

A great experience to dive into a Japanese traditional house where we felt extremely welcomed. Also ideally located at a walking distance from the train station and the beach.
