We loved everything about Ume. The beautiful setting, the design, the kindness of the staff and the most incredible meals. We had the smallest room and it was great; nicer than the photos suggest. Lovely amenities and small details in the room. But the reason to come is the food. We adored the dinner - a traditional Japanese multi course meal but very modern and clean and light. The Japanese breakfast was also divine. We would love to come back and stay in the biggest room next time.

Staff was very kind and helpful, I was able to check in late in the evening with no problem. The bathhouse was nice. I took one of the triple japanese rooms for only one person, so I had a lot of space. Three people would've fit comfortably. THe inn is one block away from Tofuku-ji so you can start your visit of Nara there. WIll definitely stay again and would recommend!
