This was certainly one of our best hotel experiences in Japan! Upgraded our room to the suite when we were there- because the courtyard was so beautiful. For design lovers, the attention to detail was immaculate and such an inspiration. The balance of traditional architecture and modern design was breathtaking. Opened only 6 months ago! What a gem. Breakfast was delicious and healthy. We got Japanese breakfasts on both mornings instead of the Western. To get there, we took a bus from Kurashiki station to a bus stop 3-5 mins walk to Yoruya.

The room is spacious and tidy, it's about 2 2-minute walk after getting out of the Kurashiki station. The staff is very friendly, especially, Haruka from the front desk is easy to communicate, and provides a great service. I recommend this hotel if you are traveling to Kurashiki.

Only spent one day at the end of our trip which was enough to basically shop and wander the historical area which I think is the main attraction anyway. Beautiful, scenic, clean, historic. And we loved Yoshii Ryokan in the heart of it all. Definitely worth a visit.

Beautfiul. A glimpse of times gone by. Old buildings, quiet streets lit by lanterns at night. Very good restaurants. The canal was lovely to look at. Very good shops, all generally selling products of high quality.

We timed our trip to co inside with the festival of lights and so pleased we got to experience the first night of the light festival before we moved on. Absolutely beautiful in the bikan historic district wandering along the canals with so much to see. Easy city to navigate with lots of great eateries.

Kurashiki is a beautiful, well preserved old town, much like Kyoto but without the crowds of tourists. The Folk Art Museum and the Kyosai Museum are particular highlights. If you're interested in Japanese history and culture, and don't want to be swamped with other tourists, I can't recommend Kurashiki enough.

Kurashiki is a great town, especially the old quarter.

Kurashiki is a great town, especially the old quarter. We stayed several nights but also did day trips from our accommodation. It was great to come back to Kurashiki at the end of the day. There is a train station right there to do day trips, a great shopping mall, as well as the stores in the old town.

We loved Kurashiki.

We loved Kurashiki. The historical quarter is so pretty with the gorgeous canal and its boats, along with the streets of former rice storehouses. The old town is quick and easy to navigate and there is so much to do! We also loved exploring the shops and enjoyed a delicious meal of Bukkake udon, a local specialty. Would highly recommend a visit here. Note: The Momotaru “Peach Boy” Folk Museum was great for our 10 year old daughter and fun for us too!!

Classic japanese business hotel, very clean, very sleek. They have a pool table in the lobby, and local liquors for you to taste :) Rooms are small but very smartly designed as the japanese know how to do (they even managed to cram in a sofa without it feeling cramped!). Very conveniently situated, between the station and the historical quarters.

Great location close to train station, historic district, eateries, shopping malls - everything within walking distance. Room and bathroom larger than most we experienced on our trip - very spacious and lovely and warm with heat pump. Very modern hotel would highly recommend.
