The staff was so nice and friendly, always available to help. The room was very big and we were able to have the onsen only for ourselves. I totally recommend this place.

While the place was overall very good and i was completely satisfied, it looked nothing but the pictures (looked better and bigger). Owner should update the pictures. The kitchen is a little bit under equipped. Hot tub is amazing.

The accommodation exceeded our most optimistic expectations. It was no standard-size hotel room; it was in fact a suite. Spacious living room with kitchenette, spacious bedroom, separate toilet and bathroom with a bath tub. Next to our room, there was a private parking for our rental.

The place was very cute, super comfortable, clean, and welcoming. I felt right at home and the entire building is sitting in this very cute location. The owner had 2 cats which roam around the property. It was great to see them. The hosts were also very attentive and friendly. I had a great time speaking to them in Japanese, but they seem to manage really well with people don't speak Japanese. The best thing for sure was that they totally saved me twice! I didn't realize how rural this place was when I booked it. On the map, it looked more accessible on foot and it was only when I was heading to Aso that I would be in trouble because of my luggage. The host offered to pick me up from Akamizu and the even to take me back to get dinner/use the onsen. Later, they also offered to drive me to Tateno station for my departure train. This saved me so much stress. I couldn't walked with my luggage, but it would have been miserable. Overall, I had a really wonderful time staying here. Felt very peaceful and I was able to relax, especially after my long hike on Mt. Aso.

I absolutely loved staying at Momiji hostel! Hide-san told and showed me everything around the house and gave some advice on where to go in the neighborhood, made a simple yet good breakfast in the morning. We've had a pleasant talk with Hide-san before I left, and he made sure I got on the bus to the Takamori station. I was surprised with being the only one to stay overnight that day, and I felt super comfortable. The arcade machine, the room samurai katana and tanto, the shampoo bar with Hide-san's personal recommendations, the bookshelf with manga in different languages, and the two lovely cats Nuan and Riku who even have their own Instagram - everything was top-notch! Hide-san, I would love to meet you again some day!

The place was very cute, super comfortable, clean, and welcoming. I felt right at home and the entire building is sitting in this very cute location. The owner had 2 cats which roam around the property. It was great to see them. The hosts were also very attentive and friendly. This saved me so much stress. I couldn't walked with my luggage, but it would have been miserable. Overall, I had a really wonderful time staying here. Felt very peaceful and I was able to relax, especially after my long hike on Mt. Aso.
