The best hotel we stayed among 3 cities we visited this time. The room is spacious and super comfy. But what I am impressed the most is the staff. They are not only very helpful but also super polite and friendly. They will move your dropped luggages to your room prior to your check in time. I enjoyed my stay here so much that I wished I should have stayed longer. Plus, they have light and free breakfast (mainly croissants with butter, almond cheese (OMG must try cos it was so goodddd) and jam) with 24hr coffee and tea. ~10 mins walk to Nisiki market.

Everything was literally perfect!!!! We stayed at the hotel for only 2 nights and had so much fun. The location is ideal, close to everything and our room was amazing. the staff was lovely and welcoming, they helped us with everything we needed. Plus there’s a free buffet in the lobby for all hotel guests which was great.

We loved this hotel. It was comfortable and stylish and very close to Gion. The bus stop and metro were just around the corner. There were several restaurants nearby. The beds were very comfortable! The restaurant seemed really nice too, although we didn’t try it.

The hotel is not a large hotel but it is huge in service levels and provisions. What we liked about the room is that it has everything that any traveller would need - good toiletries, fluffy towels, a range of Japanese teas to be introduced to us with a very thoughtful note on it's respective preparation methods. The bathroom and toilet provisions are top-notched. You'd have thought you were in a five-star hotel bathroom. In terms of space and size of room, of course, don't expect five-star space, but The General's room is comfortable, two single sofas, tv with US-CNN and the local Japanese channels. You can play your own Spotify music through the JBL bluetooth speaker with rich room-filling music. Situated two stops from Kyoto main station, it is just the right place for us. Not too busy/noisy and near enough to access all the important parts of our itinerary via the rail and bus networks. And to top is off, there is access to th executive lounge with afternoon teas and evening cocktails and drinks (including wines, beers, whiskey) and various japanese bites, snacks and cocktail nuts.

I love Kyoto because it has a good mix of old and modern.

I love Kyoto because it has a good mix of old and modern. Try to stay in Gion and Arashiyama and both have different embience. Minimum 2 nights stay each would be good. Have been to Kyoto 3 times and I will go back again.

Beautiful town.

Beautiful town. Lots to see and do including shrines, seeing the monkeys and great shopping and food. One thing was the the buses don’t run very late so sometimes it was difficult to get home of a night.

I stayed for 7 days and travelled with eldery, so i could...

I stayed for 7 days and travelled with eldery, so i could explore more of kyoto Kiyomizu, fushimi and arashiyama is good but too crowded. What i like is Kurama-dera Temple(Stunning view with lots of maple tree and many site to visit, around 45, and got to experience Eizan Railway that is better and cheaper and longer than arashiyama's sagano train), Daigoji Temple(My mom really liked it as it is calming, not crowded at all and there is garden that is so beautiful), and teamLab Biovortex (definitely a must visit, we liked the ocean section where we can color aquatic animal and it can be scanned so it will move around in the wall!)

Kyoto has so many surprises!

Kyoto has so many surprises! The Kamo River, Pontocho Alley and the gardens were our favorite! So many good restaurants to dine in and it's a very walkable city. So easy to get around. The Fushimi Inari is just a short train ride away. This is a must-visit city in Japan.

We have been to Kyoto before, during Cherry Blossom season. The number of tourists was physically overwhelming, mentally exhausting and, at times, potentially dangerous. It was very nice to re-visit the popular sights without, literally, millions of people crowding the street and thousands of Instagrammers cluttering up the views with their vapid, narcissistIc posturing.

Historical and beautiful.

Historical and beautiful. Transportation is easier to navigate than other city and food are also great. Considering to visit all temple and collecting the Goshuin -> that took a lot of time :) Considering an option of 1 day Kyoto bus and subway for 1100¥ is a great option for unlimited ride. Day trip to INE is worth also consider but be aware of weather in Dec, can be tricky. Also mostly place in INE is seems to be open on weekend. I was here in Kyoto for foliage and found what I wanted. Still a lot of place couldn't see but let's the next time visit to reclaim.

It was the best hotel we stayed in during our trip in Japan. Its aesthetic was amazing, combining traditional and modern interior design. The room was super clean and comfortable. The stuff was polite and helpful. The location was very convenient for sightseeing at Gion and Northern Higashiyama. Even if it’s not central, it offers a free shuttle bus hourly to Kyoto station that we used everyday. We’d definitely choose this hotel again in the future.

One of the best hotels I ever had in this price range. The room wasn't large, but everything had purpose and was furnished very thoughtful. The Onsen was also nice with all amenities I needed. We even could take free drinks and popsicle. With the perfect location next to the train station, the hotel wasn't lacking anything.
