Amazing atmosphere, super clean and spacious rooms. We learned a lot about Buddhism and the chief monk Ken and his family were so very nice and welcoming. They explained a lot about history, Buddhism and gave us great recommendations about walking around - definitely the highlight of our trip in Japan so far! Food was super authentic too. An advice - take a taxi from the station, it’s not expensive and the road is super steep. Also go to the morning prayer.

The stay exceeded all our expectations, even after having read the raving reviews. Everything was perfect: the location near the waterfalls and views of Mt Fuji, the cosy, immaculately clean traditional home, but most of all the amazing host Yukimi san. She was extremely kind and responsive, she picked us up from the bus stop, took us on a walk around the waterfalls, even made us coffee. This is so much more than just a beautiful accommodation, it is the pinnacle of hospitality.
