The hotel was amazing, as were the staff. The room was beyond belief in how nice it was and the outdoor bath was a treat that we will never forget. We got access to a private lounge with the room which provided nice snacks and beverages. The extra amenities in the hotel like the onsen and garden were amazing free additions. We got a Japanese style breakfast served in our room for free, and the staff gave me and my fiancée a small gift when they found out about our engagement

The view was amazing, the dinner was very varied and tasty, it had around 10 different small dishes with different types of Japanese foods. We also went to onsen that was clean and enjoyable. The shuttle bus was very convenient - hotel offering an evening ride to see the Torii gate lighten up and the we went there again in the morning after checking out and once we were done sightseeing hotel delivered our luggage to the port and we went back to mainland.

The position of the hotel was absolutely amazing and the view of the torii gate from our lovely and very well appointed top floor suite was just incredible. The staff were very friendly yet extremely polite and nothing was too much trouble for them. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and we wished we were staying for longer than just one night! The main reasson to visit was the Itsukushima Shrine but there was plenty of other shrines and temples to visit. The ropeway to Mt, Misen was great. The hike down not so much (not a trail, mainly steps - hard on the knees.

Miyajima was great for walking around and doing the ropeway to the top. A lot of little eateries and street food- good if you like seafood. Scenic with the giant Tori gate and shrines, woods, deer walking around. Miyajima was one of my favorite spots on our trip to Japan.

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come...

It does get busy during the day when lots of tourists come over by ferry for the day however we hired bikes and managed to stay clear of the crowds for the most part. The Island becomes very quite in the evening which is perfect, I would advise that you book a restaurant as lots of the island closes around 5-6pm so anything that is open later gets booked up. We were very lucky to just get the last free table on two occasions. Also the deer wandering around especially in the dusk and evening before al the ferries drop off are enchanting, however they are not like the deer in Nara park and there are lots of signs that remind people not to feed or bother the deer, not everyone follows these rules which is disappointing.

It was my second trip to Miyajima island.

It was my second trip to Miyajima island. The first time I only travelled their with my wife and we did not stay in any accommodation. I left back on the ferry same day feeling that I had to eventually return. I was able to do that and I loved every moment. It's an island I would consider going back too again and staying over again. The island offers so much. For those that want heritage and history, tick. For those that want a close encounter with a deers, tick. For those who love calm beaches or mountains, tick. For those that want experiences with friendly locals, tick. Those wanting to do shopping, especially souveniours, tick. For those who want physical activity, the walking trails up the mountain are a definite tick. I could go on, but, for so many reasons I love and would highly recommend travel to Miyajima.

Miyajima is simply magical!

Miyajima is simply magical! From the moment you step off the ferry, you’re surrounded by stunning natural beauty, peaceful shrines, and the famous floating torii gate—it truly feels like stepping into a sacred, timeless world. One of the most enchanting parts of the island was wandering through the smaller shrines tucked into the forest, where rows of little Buddha statues wear hand-knitted red hats and bibs. There’s something incredibly touching and serene about them—like the whole island is wrapped in quiet reverence. Add in the friendly deer, delicious street food (don’t miss the grilled oysters and momiji manju!), and the breathtaking views from Mount Misen, and Miyajima easily became one of our favorite places in Japan. I didn’t want to leave!

Making a trip to Miyajima Island is well worth the effort, one of the most beautiful places in Japan! It has the feel of a true getaway. Hope for good weather as the ropeway and hikes are all about the views.

This place was a perfect and an authentic stay in a ryokan. The hotel seemed to be freshly renovated. The appliances were of the highest quality and every detail was very well thought through. The interior of the room and the hotel dinning room with the little garden was exquisite. Although quite expensive at the time of booking it was well worth it. The location was also great, 4 minites away from the fast ferry stop (Hiroshima war memorial- Miyajima).

The hotel is located in the heart of Miyajima, a few minutes walk from the ferries port and fifteen minutes walk from the Shrines complex and the great Tori. Check in was fast and easy, and the room was clean and spacious, furnished in typical Japanese style. Very quiet at night and throughout the entire stay. The onsen at the ground floor were gorgeous, the water temperature was very pleasant, not too hot to bear.

Miyajima and hotel were delightful; the view from kikunoya of the Otari gate was spectacular. We had a Japanese room and service was A*. We really enjoyed our stay and onsen initiation. The Japanese breakfast was also delicious and a great experience. Staff were so helpful collecting and dropping us off to ferry terminal. Wish we’d stayed longer.

we loved our stay at Miyajima Seaside Hotel, we were treated fantastically from start to finish by the excellent staff, the dinner was delicious and a real occasion and the Osen baths well looked after and very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we were very sad to leave the hotel at the end.
