As a family of four we booked 2 twin rooms which gave us plenty of space and comfort. The facilities are excellent with heaps of extras including the wellness area, complimentary ice cream and ramen, convenient undercover parking and wonderful staff.

Everything was absolutely perfect, the staff were fantastic. The hotel is in a good location above the bus center so you can catch the city circle bus from the station. The onsen is a highlight. The staff really looked after my 9 year old daughter and made her trip very memorable. We use the hotel as a base to ski Iwate resorts.

Only had 1 and a half days in Morioka. We visited the Morioka Handicrafts Village. We enjoyed having lunch there too! The amount of crafters today was less when we visited 12 years ago but we still had a great time there!

Morioka is apparently famous for different types of locally produced noodles. I ate at two different restaurants, both were tasty with the usual exemplary Japanese customer service. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from if that is your thing. Morioka is a pleasant spot with mountain views from the central city. I visited in winter there are a few nearby skifields. I imagine it would be gorgeous in spring and autumn.

Morioka has some really charming sights and locations.

Morioka has some really charming sights and locations. Make time for the History Museum, the 2nd floor is 300 Yen entry fee but well worth the price. The walk through the gardens around the castle museums is also lovely. There are some good shops in the Fezan mall that is in the station building.

We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko.

We stopped in Morioka on the way to Niseko. It is a small Japanese city with stunning views of Mt Iwate. Our main purpose was to visit friends, so we didn't do much touring, but Morioka is a lovely smaller city, very walkable, with an active city centre of restaurants and many interesting temples. It almost feels like a mini Kyoto while driving around. We enjoyed Wanko Soba, which is famous in Morioka.

I go to Morioka every month or two, while it's a city it doesn't have the crowded or bustling feel. You're also close to nature. The botanical gardens and lake are a short drive as well as Mt. Iwate for climbing. Morioka is also a go-to for Wanko Soba. I've never had a bad meal in Morioka. Overall, Morioka is a good vertical slice of Tohoku and different from the image of Tokyo that saturates people's view of Japan.

The location is great. It’s just a few minutes walk from the train station. It is on the river bank, so if you want to have a walk along the river bank trail (which is very nice), it’s super convenient. Just cross the river with a few minutes of walk, you will be in the shopping street area. There is a 711 convenient store right downstairs. The hotel itself is typical Japanese business hotel, compact but functional with everything you need, nothing to complain here.

The hotel is located on the 3rd level of a building close to a major bus station. In the 2nd floor are 3 nice small restaurants, which is very convenient. The breakfast area has a nice modern design, in the evening it serves as a bar and there was some live music. The Japanese breakfast was very good. There also is an option for a western one. Lots of washing machines available, did not try the Onsen.

The front desk staff were great and really engaged with me. The check in process was clear and we bought breakfast coupons got the buffet option. The rooms were a good size and had lots of the amenities you’d expect from a business hotel. There were extras (free) in the lobby - things like toothbrushes, hair combs etc…

Location was excellent. Very easy to get around and fantastic to get to the train station. Lots of shopping and food places at the train station via the underpass right out front of the hotel. Hotel is directly across from Morioka train station and very close to car rentals.
