We could see the ocean from our room! The nearby beaches are beautiful and great places to snorkel. Private hot outside bath in the evening was the best to conclude our day. A big supermarket is just around the corner.

One of our favorite hotel if you like to experience an outdoor onsen with crashing waves and great sunset sea view. You can reserve an onsen for private use (only once per night stay, unfortunately). We also found the kaiseki means of excellent quality. I understand some guests did complain about the structural integrity and conditions of the building and rooms, especially the molds and the handrails down to the open-air onsen. However, I did not find this an issue during this visit and was very satisfied with the wooden handrails provided. Unless you have major sinus issues, do not miss this hotel if you need a stop at the Dagoshima area.

They issued us a wrong type of room and as an apology upgraded us to a room with private onsen. The hotel is a bit old but is clean. Both the indoor and outdoor onsens are nice. The view of the sea from our room is gorgeous. The relaxation room is huge, there are massage chairs, board games, hammocks and lots of books for guests to enjoy. The buffet dinner is great, good variety (Japanese) and delicious. What surprises me is the free flow of alcohol; sake, wine, beer and even whisky! Service staff is helpful and professional. The carpark is opposite the hotel across the road, so it is better to drop off your luggage and travel buddies first.

We had a wonderful time in Ecotone. It was one of the best places we stayed in Japan, quiet, cozy and unique. Takayuki and Akiko (and their cats, Haha and Tora) are very friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home! Highly recommended if you like nature and you want to spend some days in a traditional inn in Izu. We wished we stayed longer and will do so next time (:

The owners were very friendly and helpful. We also booked dinner at their restaurant and it was an exceptional meal. They were also able to cater to special dietary needs. The house was very clean and modern with so many thoughtful touches, making it feel cosy and practical. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. There is also free parking and shops and restaurants are within walking distances. A great location to discover Dogashima bay and go for scenic cliff walks nearby.

This is a golden spot! The house is worth a visit itself. It is traditionallly renovated, clean och simply beautiful in a calm and non-touristy area of south-west Izu. The host is so welcoming and kind, and we had dinner at her friends' little restaurant just next door - our best Tonkatsu we've had. It is recommended to travel here by car, but bikes are available for use during the stay. All we can say is: make sure not to miss this. 10 out of 10!

The hotel is fantastic with beautifully on the sea from the morning to sun set . The staff is very helpful and opened. The room is good but the bath room is so small. The restaurant should change each day not every day is the same . The hotel is very close to the Dougashima park . We will recommend our friends to stay .thank you Mr Manager is always helpful.

Seiryu ryokan is a good place to take a break when you r travelling down izu peninsula. Consider taking a break at Heda for spider crab at Restaurant Marukichi. Standby google translate. The owner and the staffa dont speak English, except Japanese.

This time, I went to see the Sanbaso puppet show at Uminano...

This time, I went to see the Sanbaso puppet show at Uminano Shrine. Apparently, the puppets were dedicated at various shrines in the area, but now only this one remains. I could sense the passion of the local people working together to preserve this traditional art form. The three puppets were manipulated by one to three people, accompanied by musical instruments, and it was a wonderful performance. It will be performed at the Japan Youth Center in November of next year. I highly recommend it to anyone interested. There was a supermarket near my lodging, where local seafood and vegetables were reasonably priced. There were also plenty of prepared foods, and if I had a car, I would have liked to stock up on more. Fishing seems to be popular here. Relaxing and fishing would surely be a great way to release stress. Apparently, the sunsets were spectacular, but unfortunately, we were caught in a downpour.

There are many tourist attractions, and although we went on a weekend, we were able to get around a little earlier and avoid the wait times and crowds. I think it's a good place to dress casually, as it's easier to move around. However, since we were able to get around in our own car, I wonder if public transportation would be better. This time, the dinner at the hotel we were staying at seemed to have a lot of wildlife, and my partner doesn't like it, so we ate out. 💦 I think you'll find plenty of good restaurants if you drive a little further. Be careful, as many places close early. It's a good idea to do some research beforehand and call your destination to make sure you don't waste your time.
