It is a nice city with ocean and good izakaya restaurant culture and a few good museums which we really enjoyed. It was quiet when we visited with very few tourists. City itself has a few good points of interest worth exploring and its located close to other cities which would make for good day trips.

Citizens are polite, helpful and kind.

Citizens are polite, helpful and kind. You can sense the good feeling from the citizens. Even as a foreigner I felt so welcome! If you are a Love Live -fan Numazu is a must visit. Also to enjoy atmosphere of tiny and pretty japanese city. Everything is close by and cozy! Strolling around the bay area and visiting bordering towns like Uchiura are perfect for those who enjoy marine life or wants to get a good glimpse of the mount Fuji!

we enjoy numazu most during the sakura season. however, when not in season, we visit only for the eating. our favorite lunch is at the hama grill adjacent to the deep sea museum in the port area and our favorite dinner is at coos izakaya near the train station and the prezio hotel. and the freshly cooked fish at the prezio's breakfast was a winner too!

An amazing little town on the Pacific coast, with a bustling market street, beautiful parks and rivers, and apparently also famed in some anime circles. It also has the longest (and possibly the most beautiful) beach in all of Japan, and one of the best spots to watch the sun set over Mt Fuji (if you are lucky with the weather). The best day, in my honest opinion, is a day in summer or early autumn, just after it has rained (or between showers), when the sun comes forth in a spectacular fashion, and you have the setting sun, Mt Fuji with just a little bit of clouds around it, the Japanese Alps on one side, the Pacific on the other, and majestic rainclouds everywhere else. That is a spectacular view that you have to see, and that mere words cannot justify. In order to do so, then come to Numazu, and Senbon Beach! Also great place for couples (and just friends)!

A little jewel right between Mt Fuji and the pacific.

A little jewel right between Mt Fuji and the pacific. Still quite popular with fans of a certain anime, but I would argue that the town is a lot better than that. Friendly people, cosy neighbourhoods, lively market streets, and a beach that is not only the longest in Japan, but perhaps also the most beautiful. In one view, you can see the pacific, the Japanese alps and Mt Fuji. Add a sunset over the mountains, and you have the view of a lifetime (see photo of a decent example). You can get the train to Numazu, or the Shinkansen to nearby Mishima, and from Numazu you are 1h to Mt Fuji or any of the five lakes, or 30 mins to the onsens of Izu.

Perfect location for my partner's golf day with Galloway Golf Group KK. Hotel is next to the north exit of Numazu station which is the beginning of the Gotemba line. Many convenience store options on the doorstep with a large supermarket in the basement of the small shopping centre near the South exit of the station. Room itself was clean and comfortable, hotel staff were very friendly, with English speaking reception staff available. We were able to store our luggage for the day after checking out.

We have booked two nights in Numazu, because it was cheap and it was easier to do one day trip from here (Kawaguchiko, Kawazu waterfalls, Hakone). It has a 24/7 reception, which was very important to us as we arrived little bit after midnight. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the anemities are excellent. Coffee for free available at the reception, there was also a shelf with hygiene stuff (hair rubber bands, shavers, hairbrushes, ear picks etc). There is a possibility of brekfast.

The location is incredible right in front of Mountain Fuji in a tiny island. The hôtel is from the 90´s with limited facilities no gym, internet is not working in the rooms, no room service, no restaurant for lunch but it has an incredible charme & the dîner is very good. The room are very large facing the sea!

Huge space in guest room when compare to hotels in Tokyo. You may choose between grilled mackerel as local style or Western style (egg, ham and sausage) for breakfast.
