I had such a wonderful stay at Oito. I came to Tamba Sasayama first because this café inn seemed so charming and I wasn't disappointed. The place is so cozy and with marvellous furniture and handicrafts. Plus, the staff is really amazing and kind. They helped me so much and my experience there was the best there thanks to them. The region is so beautiful and peaceful. Oito is located in a lovely historic street and there are very good restaurants and shops around. The nice breakfast at the café will also be a precious memory for me. I totally recommend. Thank you so much for everything!

Our stay in Tamba-Sasayama was absolutely magical. The house itself was a masterpiece — traditional on the outside, yet elegant and modern inside. The highlight was definitely the bathroom: a stone bath that felt like a private spa carved into the heart of Japan. Sitting in warm water surrounded by smooth stone after exploring the old town was simply unforgettable. Tamba-Sasayama itself is an incredible hidden gem — full of beautifully preserved old houses, narrow streets, and deep history. Visiting the castle and the former Samurai residence gave us a real sense of Japan’s past. The whole town has a quiet, timeless atmosphere that makes you feel completely at peace. It was the perfect combination of culture, comfort, and authenticity. We would come back in a heartbeat.

The location of the property is within walking distance to the attraction places. Unless you have car, 10 to 20 minutes walking distance is acceptable. The property itself is well equipped and you just bring in your stuff and can stay there for a short break like your home. The property itself is a detached single story traditional house, and is a live show case about local Japanese culture. The owner also displays promotion materials about the local environs which suitable for new comer like us in the local community. The property is a quiet place. Having said that, depends on your requirement of "quiet", the property is adjoining to a main county road which means cars are passing through day and night, though not frequent. The owner is a nice gentleman and willing at all time to give you a helping hand in providing advices in the local community such as traveling, dining and sight seeing. To a traveler, a clean, comfort and safe place to stay is essential to release of uncertainty. The property and the owner do this well.

Extraordinary experience, worth traveling to Tamba-Sasayama just to stay in this beautiful home. The architecture is traditional, with mixed furniture -- the main room is traditional, the upstairs bedroom features western-style beds. Kitchen is also very modern with German appliances, and then there's a sideboard with Tamba-yaki ceramic dishware I'm frankly amazed they trust their guests to use. Artistic touches everywhere. The house has a front and interior garden, and is located along a stream, which lulled me to sleep at night. The host really went above and beyond to help me arrange taxis to/from the pottery town located 20 minutes away and make dinner reservations around town. (Highly recommend Maekawa!) I really enjoyed my two nights here, and wish I could have stayed much longer!
