The place is near the train station and popular street but quiet as it behind the busy street. The staff is very nice and the decoration is traditional Japanese. The room is very warm and equipped with Tea/Coffee machine. Very recommended.

A beautiful location. Rriver view is outstanding! During cherry blossoms, it should be absolutely magical. The room is a great combination of a traditional ryokan and a modern hotel, has everything you need for comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. We also were allowed to leave our luggage before check-in. We visited public baths and liked it.

I had previously stayed in one other place that didn’t have a proper window/view and hated it. However, I can’t say that for eph. It didn’t seem to register the same, due to the way the wall/glass over looking over the other building is lit. Loved our stay here. Room was a great size, a good 30 square metre. Kitchen facilities were ideal for us to get some clothes washing done on our travels. Bathroom/shower room was excellent as well. Staff were really nice as well. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from Kyoto station. Was ideal for getting off the train from Tokyo. Price was also really reasonable as well. Highly recommend anyone visiting Kyoto for a few nights to stay here.

The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly, and always helpful. The room I stayed in was simply stunning—part of a beautiful traditional Japanese house that offers a full, authentic cultural experience. The location is also perfect, right in the heart of Uji, just a short walk from famous temples like Byōdō-in and other sightseeing spots. It’s also a great base for visiting Kyoto or even taking a short trip to Tokyo. And of course, Uji is the matcha capital of Japan—so everything was truly unforgettable.

Nice classic Japanese tatami style room with indoor slippers provided. Facilities completed such as fridge, coffee machine, washing machine. The owner also recommended a few places to visit in Uji as well as the places to avoid. Kettle, cups and a foldable table is available in the room as well, very convenient. Although it is a distance away from the main Uji town, but it's near the train station, restaurants and shops.
