The hotel was conveniently located across the road from the railway station and many eating options in the nearby streets. This new hotel had excellent facilities, including public bathing and a very reasonably priced restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The hotel staff were excellent. They were friendly and hospitable, and conveniently for us, spoke English, so were able to help and direct us to a canal tour. Our room was well appointed, very clean and modern.

Our host was very helpful and friendly. When our pizza could not be delivered, she even went out of the way to go amd collect for us herself. The rooms are quaint and lacking for nothing. Many restaurants nearby and would love to visit again.

A secluded but relatively accessible location with a few stray kitties around the property. The room is cosy and comfortable with a foot bath you can enjoy after traveling. It is within walking distance from eel and seafood restaurants, boat docking area and local museum. Staff is helpful, enthusiastic and very informative. We really enjoy our time here!

An older stately hotel that kept all its charm, location, cuisine and thoughtful hospitality. The walls and decor shows it has existed in Yanagawa for a long time but that time has been spent honing the experience. The kaiseki dinner was brilliant using regional ingredients especially eel. We were surprised to be served Hitsumabushi given the price. Buffet breakfast has an extensive spread with signs indicating the origin such as the soy sauce brewer or the rice grower. You can find them in gift shops around town. The hotel also arranges river cruises. The back of the hotel faces the river with a boat ramp just a stone throw from the lobby. The boatman that the hotel arranged actually waited for us at the lobby. He had a wonderful singing voice. He could yodel Yanagawa classics and anime songs while we cruised down the waterways. The rooms were spacious and Wifi was fast. The hotel has so much parking too and very close to tourist sites in Yanagawa. Just walk along the river. If you book for private onsen, you get both the indoor amd outdoor pools too. Could not praise Kamenoi enough for such a wonderful experience. I d rate it 11/10 if I could. Would definitely stay again if visiting Yanagawa.

The staff are so friendly and helpful, and were happy to recommend some local restaurants. The rooms are large with comfortable beds. Breakfast was included for a reasonable price. Nice views over the town.

Yanagawa is famous for its Unagi i e grilled eels with a sweet soya sauce. It also has a beautiful canal and you can take a trip down the canal on a boat . It feels like the Venice of Japan. It is a small township and you can walk around the canal to the little shops and eateries. It is far from the bustling cities of Japan and has its own charm.
