The location is PERFECT. The scenery is breath-taking. I saw the sunrises and sunsets above the Victoria Lake, the distant mountains (yes, the Hemingway's novel came to my mind), even a hippo walking below my balcony one night, my accommodation was not a room but a house. There was a big "sausage tree" over my balcony, so I could see many birds and bats. I just fell in love with the location. The Impala Sanctuary is about a 40-minute walk, the Kisumu Museum is not far away if you take a bike-taxi or a Tuk-Tuk. A quiet, a relaxing, and a lovely place to stay. Can you imagine the lake was clean and full of life just 100 years ago? I wish I could swim in it.
