The lady owner was excellent at using tanslator and it felt like she was a fluent speaker of English. I liked her smile as it always put me at ease. I really enjoyed healthy and delicious breakfast she prepared every morning, which was good for my canker sore as well. She was very attentive and always tried to help people staying there. I really appreciate it. Bek and Bermet are very hospitable. We felt at home from the very beginning. We were upgraded to a double room since we're staying 3 nights in Kochkor. Breakfast was great, very filling. Bek guided us on a tour to the beautiful alpine lake of Song-Kul. We loved the whole experience of the road trip and the lake with its outstanding views. Bermet is very talented in making Shyrdak carpets and rugs together with other women in the village. Bek is a very kind man and always ready to answer any question or help in anyway he could. We highly recommend this place to all who want to have a base and discover the natural beauties around Kochkor.

Kochkor is a central location with beautiful views itself...

Kochkor is a central location with beautiful views itself and easy access to other places for hiking, horse trekking, etc. We only spent one night before a horse trek, yet we were able to meet all of our needs in Kochkor (got money, food, drinks, etc before setting out on our trek). There were multiple other things we could have done if we had more time.

We arrived very late at night, but the hosts from...

We arrived very late at night, but the hosts from guesthouse waited for us. The next day we were at the market/Basar and the busy center of the town which was just a very nice and exciting experience. The people there mind their own business and leave you alone, but ask for help here and there. But they are honestly helpful and concerned about you - to find the way, find a shop, find anything. We went horseriding for two days and asked first in the cbt office - but went with a different agency around the corner. Always good to check other offers ;) The food was good. Went into a local Cafe in the center,, housed in containers and it was crowded with locals - and yes the local food was very good and fresh!
