TARA Lodge is located close to the crab market and restaurants (15-20 minute walk). The lodge is very serene and calm with lots of green plants. The room is spacious and equipped with hot water and air conditioning. The hotel manager Marie was really nice and explained everything to me. In general the whole staff was very welcoming and kind. There were several breakfast options. I really enjoyed the French toast breakfast. Stay here if you‘re going to visit Kep!

We had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse, run by a lovely family who truly made us feel at home. Their hospitality was exceptional, and they went out of their way to arrange delicious vegetarian meals for us, which I greatly appreciated. The location is peaceful, providing a perfect retreat, and the overall experience offers great value for money. Best stay possible ,modern facilities ,no levels ,one level throughout. Consistant staff always with a smile . Manager arranged a scooter delivered to the door and arranged a car to the airport at reasonable costs . Breakfast very good ,huge swimming pool and staff /manager always willing to help ,all requests met with a smile .They even washed the scooter and made sure was put away for the nights . Staying here will not disappoint, felt like being home with more comforts ,sad to leave .

Kep tourism has not picked up like in neighboring Vietnam or...

Kep tourism has not picked up like in neighboring Vietnam or Thailand and is probably for slightly more adventurous type of travelers (incl. with kids). Indeed, the city remains very green, airy and offers a truly Cambodian experience. Think crab market with slinging hammocks, mangrove boat trips, secluded pagodas, off grid guesthouses on Rabbit Island (disconnection!), nice dinner by the sea or even a gentle hike in the National Park. Renting motorbikes to visit caves or Kampot nearby are nice add-ons for a longer stay.

Kep was a great day trip for us.

Kep was a great day trip for us. We walked in the National Park, took a dip at the beach, got a beer by the seafront and chilled in a hammock and then got food in the market and a restaurant. We had excellent seafood in the market (squid in pepper sauce for 75c!) and sunset margaritas Parts of the seafront were totally empty/abandoned - empty lots on the boardwalks. It was quite different to what we had read in guidebooks I think. Perhaps development going on? We also had quite an aggressive Tuk Tuk driver who had driven us to our accom the night before follow us from point to point during the day who would not stop engaging with us.. even when we said no repeatedly which made us (2 females) quite uncomfortable, especially arranging Tuk Tuk for our next journey. Having travelled to many other countries in SE Asia before, I found this a lot. Be careful.

We spent 2 nights in Kep on the way to the Vietnam border (Ha Tien). Kep was the most chilled, relaxed place I have visited in Cambodia. Fantastic crab restaurants right on the water, but no tourist markets/pressure to buy things. Amazing sunsets over the gulf and islands each day - lovely place to come and do nothing but wonder around, eat great seafood and relax.

It's a very quiet town , the sea food is some of the best I've ever had and very cheap for what it is. It's not party town so if you want to go for that stick to Thailand. Perfect for family's

I loved Kep. We stayed here for 2 days, 1 night.

I loved Kep. We stayed here for 2 days, 1 night. Went to the beach, enjoyed crab at the local restaurants and explored the national park. Kep is a beautiful little seaside village with lots to do. You could easily stay longer than we did.

Awesome views from the rooms, restaurant and bar. Nice helpful staff and good food for fair prices. Walking distance to crab market, beach and nature. Many places in Kep look abondened or not maintained so Saravoan is your best option for a comfortable stay.

Best food that we have had in Cambodia by far. All fresh and homemade by the owner and staff. The owner was very nice and helped us with arranging a scooter and a minibus for our onward journey.
