I spent four days here after traveling across Cambodia, and it was exactly the serenity I needed. The hotel truly feels like a hidden paradise , the rooms are beautifully designed, and the swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery gives you a magical jungle feeling. It’s quiet, peaceful, and the perfect place to unwind. The food is absolutely delicious, but what really makes this place stand out is the staff. I have never encountered such warm, smiling, and genuinely caring people in a hotel. They do everything in their power to make your stay wonderful, and their kindness makes you feel right at home. I was also deeply impressed by the fact that they hire many interns, a meaningful way to support the youth in Cambodia while giving back to the local community. This thoughtful approach adds a layer of purpose and heart to the stay. A special shout-out to Pheareak, Srey Lean, Phearu, Naren, Chomno, and Mealea, thank you for your incredible warmth and for making my stay unforgettable. 💚 A beautiful setting, exceptional hospitality, and a mission that matters , I couldn’t recommend this hotel more. I will always remember this peaceful oasis and the wonderful people who make it shine. 🌿

If you are planning a stay in Siem Reap, then I can highly recommend the Dusit Hotel. Where should I start? I felt at home all around, from the communication before the trip to the transport from the airport to the hotel, everything went excellently. The staff at the reception, who do their job around the clock with great friendliness, are very helpful. The rooms are large and clean, and the chambermaids also work quickly and do their job very well. The location of the hotel is excellent, it is right in the center. Many restaurants, shops, religious sites and also the National Museum are within walking distance. I had forgotten my health insurance card in the hotel during my stay. I was then contacted by Chariya and Lisa via WhatsApp and asked if I still needed it or if they should destroy the card. I was also offered to have it sent to my address in Germany. This is a great service. Every hotel can be proud to have such motivated employees!

Everyone must visit the temples of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat...

Everyone must visit the temples of Siem Reap and Angkor Wat in their lifetime. Amazing!!!! Mind-blowing. Just beautiful. All temples have clean (lots of TP) western-style restrooms with nice restaurants near by. And the Cambodian people are lovely - so helpful and grateful. Don't miss this amazing piece of history. On par with the pyramids of Egypt for "wow-ness" - but a much less expensive trip. And visit the landmine museum and give a well-needed donation. Great vacation destination!!

Visiting Siem Reap is a MUST.

Visiting Siem Reap is a MUST. The 10 primary temples and ruins are spectacular and each has its own unique features. Also visit the floating village on Tonle Sap and bring gifts for the children or buy them at the general store (such as school supplies, candy, etc.) -- and have water shoes or flip flops with you, too. The roughly 4,000 families are very poor, but still live in gratitude. It was amazing to see. Also, visit the Cambodian Elephant Sanctuary, which is small and intimate, and gives you hilarious, hands-on interaction with their three rescued elephants. Near there, you should also visit the Cambodian Landmine Museum, and see a demonstration of landmine removal. It was very sobering experience. If you are really adventurous, spend half a day visiting a firing range. You won't believe what you can get access to there. It's not cheap but is a one-in-a-lifetime experience.

🌏 Siem Reap & Angkor Wat Travel Notes

🌏 Siem Reap & Angkor Wat Travel Notes 🏯 Temples & Heritage - Angkor Wat & surrounding temples: Timeless, awe‑inspiring, and impossible to fully absorb in one visit. - Recommended stay: At least 5 days to explore without rushing. 🌅 Natural Wonders - Tonlé Sap Lake: Largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. - Sunset views give the illusion of being in the middle of an ocean. - Kulen Mountains: Source of sandstone used to build Angkor temples. - Dramatic 90° rock faces where stones were chiseled away centuries ago. 🍴 Food & Evenings - Pub Street: Vibrant nightlife hub with diverse cuisine. - Coffee culture: Excellent cafés scattered across Siem Reap. 🚖 Getting Around - Tuk‑Tuk rides: Convenient for temple sightseeing. - Approximate cost: $15–20 per day ✨ Why It Stands Out - Every trip feels like a **new revelation**—hidden gems beyond the temples. - The warmth of Cambodian people makes the experience even more memorable. - A balance of history, nature, and modern leisure ensures variety for every traveler. --- Your reflection could easily serve as a **personal testimonial or blog post** for fellow travelers. If you’d like, I can help you polish this into a **LinkedIn travel note** (with a professional yet personal tone) or a **short Instagram carousel script** with captions for each highlight. Such a wonderful city.

Such a wonderful city. The temples are amazing, if you don’t like temples there’s so many other things you can do. The whole place is very relaxed and food fabulous and prices of drinks and massages so cheap. It’s so easy to get around walking or by tuk tuk. So many restaurants to choose from. Pub street is touristy but a fun place at night for the young and old. We did a day trip mountain bike riding and another day trip to a wonderful waterfall. You can be as busy or relaxed as you like in Siem reap.

Siem Reap has much improved as an urban centre since infrastructural works carried out with Chinese money during Covid. Coming from Vietnam, it seemed positively modern and clean. The heritage sites around it, Angkor Wat etc are astounding in beauty, design, engineering and scale. Impressing me more than any Maya, Aztec or Inca ruins I have visited. The care given to care and restore for them is v impressive too, putting English Heritage etc to shame. Every Cambodian person I met was impeccably kind and thoughtful. What a wonderful destination.

The hotel is super good, one of the best we stayed in our Vietnam-Cambodia trip. The facilities are amazing, clean and very comfortable. But the best thing is the owner. He will help with anything you need, propose to you all kinds of activities and places to visit, and give you tea and fruit every time you arrive after visiting things (temples of course). I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Siem Reap. I do not thing you can find a better place with a better staff.

This hotel is based on a wonderful ethos- training young, poor, Cambodians to work in the hospitality industry. And what an excellent result! I've never met such smiley, polite, funny hotel staff before. Hello 👋 Lida. Two gin and tonics please! The breakfasts are chosen from a delicious menu and first rate. The hotel itself is lovely, not 5 star but really comfortable, clean, modern rooms. Please stay here. One $1 gets you a tuk tuk into the centre of town- about 5 minutes.

This hotel and their service were our most magnificent place in Cambodia. The hotel are is stunning, quite but for Siem Reap just perfect. The rooms are clean, comfortable and with great equipment. The pool and breakfast speak for themselves and the warm greetings and overall caretakers experience made our stay a 12/10. We want to recommend this place to anyone, who is looking for a small luxury hotel with affordable prices. Well done, Sakmut Team, we will be back!

If I could give 6 stars to Sitoh and her wonderful staff I would. This hotel was the best. Very special place to stay and the team of staff work together to make your stay seamless and relaxed. The rooms are lovely and the facilities and pool perfect. Definitely the place to stay in Siem Reap

The place was absolute luxury, everything was perfect. The staff especially were the most friendly, helpful, and attentive people - one of the best experiences at a hotel I've ever had. 10/10 experience, would really recommend!
