In all honesty I didn’t feel that Seoul is actually worth...

In all honesty I didn’t feel that Seoul is actually worth visiting as a tourist, nor does it feel very accommodating to tourists. Although their public transport is very good, the city is still too car centric (sometimes you’ll struggle to even find a way to cross their highway-like streets). Myeong-dong, although vibrant, is actually annoying to walk around, the food vendors take too much space and the food they sell is average at best. Gangnam is simply a financial district with almost nothing for a tourist to do and that library is definitely not worth visiting. Hongdae was nice for a change. Furthermore for some inexplicable reason nobody can walk in a straight line so prepare yourself for constant dodging manoeuvres if you don’t want to keep bumping into people. Everybody looks annoyed and grumpy including the taxi drivers. People rush in the subway trains without waiting for everyone to get off and nearly everybody constantly spits in the designated smoking areas (that was really quite disgusting). The only thing that I would honestly recommend doing is visiting the DMZ which was definitely a valuable experience and our guide there was incredible. I don’t want to be rude but I left the country mostly feeling sorry for the life that Koreans live which is not the feeling you want to have when leaving a highly developed country.

Seoul is great.

Seoul is great. I liked the cleanliness, everything is so neat and accurate. People are polite. Bus and metro are great. Food especially street one is delicious and at decent price (especially compared to Europe trip).

Seoul is definitely worth visiting, especially the TV tower with the magnificent view from there. However, if you have seen the skyscrapers of Tokyo and the Forbidden City in Beijing, you can skip the visit. Seoul felt like scaled down versions of a mixture of the two.

Stayed in Myeongdong, which is the touristy part of Seoul.

Stayed in Myeongdong, which is the touristy part of Seoul. I like that there are lots of shops and eateries and it's not overly-touristy (e.g. only focusing on souvenirs.) There are locals in the area so you know it's not a dedicated tourist trap. The market areas are busy but not push-and-shove crowded when I was there in October (my guess is it might be somewhat off-season so I won't be surprised it becomes push-and-shove during peak seasons. If you love pushing and shoving in a jam-packed market then good for you.) Traffic jams are a nightmare. I absolutely cannot stand the traffic in Seoul. And it takes over an hour to get from ICN airport to downtown Myongdong where I stayed.

Absolutely loved our time in Seoul!

Absolutely loved our time in Seoul! It’s a very modern city with deep rooted history woven throughout the skyscrapers and futuristic landmarks. The tour to the DMZ was an unforgettable day that’s left an indelible mark on my heart. We learned so much about the complications, pain and suffering these beautiful people have endured since their country became divided. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity!

I absolutely LOVED Seoul!

I absolutely LOVED Seoul! I heard mixed reviews before coming here, such as it was busy and touristy. While this was true in some areas, the city is big enoug hthat you can have so many different experiences. It is also clean, safe, and extremely walkable <3 the touristy places are not too touristy (mostly asian tourists so I sill felt like I was far from home) and still worthwhile seeing! I could have spent a whole week here but only had four days and five nights. Kamsahamnida Seoul, I will be back!!

Conveniently placed for a transfer from international to domestic terminals. This hotel is placed inside the shopping centre which tunnels in from the subway. Have stayed here both times on my South Korea trips when doing overnight transfers as it’s just so easy to get in and out with our suitcases. Stay was clean and comfortable. Also appreciated the crisp clear big tv with streaming services. The standard room and bathroom was spacious enough to be quite comfortable too. Bed and pillows were comfortable, no problems there.

1. It was a warm room. The hotel is very expensive around Myeongdong, but this guesthouse is very cheap compared to the hotel. 2. As in the review, the boss also made Korean kimchi pancakes for breakfast. 3. It's close to Myeongdong Station and there's a 7-Eleven convenience store right in front of the accommodation. 4. The lights are on on the street all evening, so it's nice to be able to go around alone. 5. The Namsan Tower was right behind me, so I could see it from my room.

We chose this location for last night in Seoul before flying back to Europe and it was a perfect choice. The hotel is situated by Seoul's subway so it takes just a few minutes to get to Airport Line from hotel. Very comfortable beds, beautiful views. Personnel was nice and friendly, great service, really recommend! Best hotel we stayed at during our South Korea trip.

Great staff, great location for walking, bus & tube exploration depending upon how far one is heading, great quality hotel. Free WiFi everywhere, as you come to expect in South Korea! The staff also booked our excellent taxi to Incheon airport to accommodate dropoffs at both Terminals. Now we know the hotel & this part of Seoul, we'd stay again. Thankyou.
