Great location for the walk up Adams Peak. The staff were very helpful with a good local place to eat and timings on when to start walking. Also great breakfast in the morning and they allowed for a slightly later check out which wasn’t needed but good to know.

An amazing place. The host was just great, so sweet and helpful. Everything was super clean, the common areas as well as the room. The beds are very cosy and breakfast was traditional, very tasty, fresh and really filling. We got breakfast after coming back from the ascent of Adam’s peak for sunrise, which was great! Location perfect, very center of the village, walking distance to the starting point of Adam’s Peak staircase and to the shops and restaurants. Would stay here again. Totally recommended!

We stayed here for a couple of nights because we wanted to climb the Adam's Peak and well, the Water Side Residence was the perfect choice for us - it's located near the entrance of the hiking trail for the Adam's Peak (like 5-10 minutes walk or less). The hosts were lovely, ready to share tips/suggestions for the hike, as well as ready to answer any questions we might have (not only related to the Adam's Peak). There's a cafeteria upstairs, at the entrance, and you must try the food there - everything was so delicious, from the noodles to the omelets and all the fresh fruit juices! Our room was a wooden cabin a few floors downstairs from the cafeteria. It was so peaceful there! Beds were comfortable, there was hot water for the shower, plenty of power plugs, and there were mosquito nets at the entrance (so we could keep the windows open during night to cool the air in the cabin). Would definitely recommend this place if you plan to climb the Adam's Peak :)

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

At the top of Adam's Peak it is quite cold and windy, you...

At the top of Adam's Peak it is quite cold and windy, you will be walking up and sweating. In order not to freeze at the top while you wait for dawn, I advise you to take extra dry clothes to change at the top (there is a toilet there), a windbreaker and a thermos with hot water. And don't forget the sunscreen, as soon as the sun comes out it won't spare you. This is an amazing place call mountain Malaya, where Guru Rinpoche gave Tantric Teachings in the Tibetan tradition for the first time on earth. And also the place of Dakinis. Glad that you will be there. Make a wish for the benefit of all sentient beings(you are one of them ;)) ! :)

There is a lake and Tea Gardens nearby.

There is a lake and Tea Gardens nearby. However you cannot visit either of them. You can only drive around and take in the views. What is quite nice is to climb up the Adams' Peak. The climb is good for those who like climbing and hiking.

We stayed for 2 nights to climb Adams Peak. Our room was spotlessly clean. The hotel manager was really helpful in every aspect of our stay and arranged forward transport. The location was very good on the edge of all the hustle and bustle with great views from the rooms. The food was really good fresh cooked by the managers mother. The taxi arranged for us had a really nice driver who was safe but made our long trip interesting. Very happy overall

I can not with words describe what a WONDERFUL place Queens Ark is. The owner and all the staff, friendliest people you will ever meet. Food was the best I have eaten in Sri Lanka. Not only is the place super cheap an clean but also the rooms are big, with warm shower water, cozy blankets, big beds and great balcony view. I will come back just for this place!

The hotel is located directly at the bottom of the stairs to Adams Peak. If you want to hike up the mountain it really js the best place to stay! The rooms are small but the beds are comfortable and there is a nice little garden in front of the house.
