My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Ahungalla is a little village, hence to see places around...
Ahungalla is a little village, hence to see places around you need bus or tuk tuk services, they run on main road all the time. We loved Bentota - a resort 20 min on a bus - it had calm beach and cafes to eat/drink around. Just outside Bentota there is village where you can get good shopping for clothes, gifts etc. Galle is 50min drive on a bus from Ahungalla. It's a lovely historic place to visit. We liked Ahungalla as it's less busy/noisy than other towns, and the villa we stayed was 5min walk to the beach. There is a good supermarket for basic items.Guest review byMargaritaUnited Kingdom
