Ravanna Garden is a boutique hotel like no other. The staff, food, rooms, garden, pool, beach are all exceptional. It is a little oasis in an otherwise busy world! On Arrival there is building works going on which a little off putting, but no one is disturbed by it and once walked beyond it you arrive into the oasis! The rooms are large, super clean and comfortable with every facility needed . NOTE - on arrival you are asked to let them know if ,and when, you would like your room cleaned. Remember this is an eco hotel, therefore how often do you really need your towels and linen changing ?! The food is exceptional, organic, local, and you can even buy their own local spices. The service throughout is excellent and they cannot do enough to ensure your stay with them is nothing short of everything you would like. A walk along the beach is must to the harbour wall where there is a safe swimming spot, and many of the locals converge there. Be brave and stay longer than 1 or 2 nights, it is very much well worth it - there are added surprises along the way and the team do everything they can. Bikes are available to go the local temple and a visit with a hotel guide to show the effects of the Tsunami is a must, plus the wildlife and roadside stores make for a very interesting visit.

Breakfast was very nice. Staff was friendly, and we got a full Sri Lankan meal. They also accommodated our requests and were very attentive.

The variety of activities and leisure options available were impressive—whether relaxing by the adults-only pool, enjoying the state-of-the-art gym, or simply exploring the expansive grounds, there was never a dull moment. Walking through the beautifully maintained golf course was an absolute delight, as we encountered numerous stunning animals in their natural habitat, adding an enchanting touch to our stay. On our last day, we discovered the Ulpatha Clubhouse, which provided an amazing experience and a fantastic atmosphere to relax and enjoy sports at their finest. Dining at Bojunhala restaurant was a highlight of our experience. Without exaggeration, it offered the best food we had in Sri Lanka—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Special thanks to the outstanding staff who consistently went above and beyond. The manager, Tharindi, was exceptionally attentive, ensuring our stay was perfect in every detail. Our housekeeper, Rohana, provided impeccable service—always efficient, attentive, and friendly. Moreover, the pool bar staff made our relaxing afternoons truly enjoyable. The vastness of the property offers something special for everyone, making it an ideal destination for both adults and families with children. The sense of space and tranquility is unmatched, ensuring comfort and privacy throughout. We highly recommend Shangri-La Hambantota for an unforgettable Sri Lankan experience. I had an exceptional stay at the guesthouse! The family managing it is incredibly welcoming, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable considering the affordable price. Every detail was thought of, and cleanliness was exemplary. It was more than just accommodation; it was an enriching experience. I highly recommend this guesthouse for those seeking a memorable and authentic stay.

The location and the property itself is outstanding. It’s located in a dense jungle area off the normal road but it’s magical once you get there. Hearing the waves crashing all day long along with the birds chirping is so soothing and serene. You literally feel like you’re in a rainforest. The breakfast was good as well, they offer few set menu options which you can choose from.

Awesome place overlooking a very broad and calm beach. Beautiful garden and big spacious rooms with air conditioning. We liked everything about our stay: location, breakfasts and tips from the owner about what to do in the neighborhood. You can go bird watching, go chill and swim in a reef- protected Harmony Beach. Overall amazing!

Such a unique stay in the heart of the village. The house was so comfortable and secluded and the owner attentive and also appreciative of giving us our space. Nothing was to much trouble. The breathtaking local beach and the baby turtles were an unexpected highlight as was the sunrise kayak on the local lagoon. It was one night but memories that will stay for a lifetime.

The best food and the best stay we have had during our vacation. Views from the village are great, the beach is beautiful, almost like a private one. Highly recommended!

Best hotel / resort we’ve ever stayed in. Staff were exceptional, and both the resort and the room were more then exceptional. Crazy ocean view from room 4. Amazing deserted beach literally right outside the hotel plus a really good pool. Food was great and stuff looked after us well. Didn’t want to leave!! Felt it was good value too for what we got.
