This place in Ahangama is a true gem, honestly. The villa is just stunning—spotless, stylish, and has such a lovely, peaceful vibe. It's a proper little slice of paradise. What really makes it though is the hosts. The hospitality is just brilliant. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure you're sorted. We felt right at home. The food was amazing, we looked forward to breakfast everyday. The rooms are immaculate, the pools are great for a swim, and it’s perfectly quiet while still being close to the beach. If you're after a beautiful, relaxing spot in Sri Lanka, this is the one. A brilliant stay all around.

* İ love that it is a family house, still have some spirit in the air and represents a local culture and lifestyle * fully equipped kitchen is such a pleasure to have * Green yard and garden furniture * Privacy * Spaciousness * Loved the style: all this old wooden windows, wooden furniture, architectural details * The pleasure was to watch the birds which visited the yard, around 20 spicies, some have nest inside garden trees. * We rented scooter from our host, they brought it on our arrival to the house * To stay in the village was nice for me * The beach in front of the house is not polluted, possible to swim, and to surf. Sunsets are very good, as sun falls down into the ocean * Friendly owner of the house, made his best in hospitality

We had an amazing time at Animals! We loved it here so much we doubled our stay because the place is just a dream. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We stayed in the "budget rooms" at first, which is just 10 seconds from the pool and dining area. Even though it's called a budget room, it's spacious & very well maintained and has a lovely garden, and the rooms have a large bathroom, a dressing and a terrace. The other days we spend in the double rooms in the main building which are like you're staying inside of a Pinterest moodboard. We got the privilege to meet the Swedish couple who owns the hotel & designed it into an absolute gem. They are just the best people, we talked for many hours & went surfing with them & learned so much about Swedish & Sri Lankan life during our talks. The breakfast included has so many options tot choose from and the coffees are actually the best we had in Sri Lanka. If you would be unfortunate that there is no room available in the hotel, do yourself a favour and come have lunch or dinner, you won't be disappointed! Even though we travelled a lot and visited so much nice hotels & resorts, we never had the same experience like we had at Animals! The biggest thank you to Nalin, Samon, Anndala & Arvid for making us feel so welcome! ♥️

Everything was beyond my expectations; the staff, the facilities, and the location. The staff Lashitha was the most hospitable, kindest person I met in Sri Lanka. He taught me many things about the country and was eager to help in every possible way. The breakfast was big and high-quality, the room was very spacious and clean. The location is perfect as well. It's close to the beach, a big supermarket and a few local eateries are nearby. I had stayed at another hotel before Mzion, and this hotel changed my experience in Weligama.

This place is truly the best place to stay. Sapiens Weligama is nestled in stunning natural surroundings, offering complete tranquility while still being close to the city. We initially planned a short stay but ended up staying for two months because, after just one hour, it already felt like home. The staff are incredibly welcoming and kind—genuinely some of the warmest people you can imagine. From the manager to the kitchen staff and those who keep everything spotless, they make you feel like family because they truly care about your well-being. This isn’t just a hotel—it’s a home in paradise. The WiFi is excellent, the beds are comfortable, and the pool with its river view is absolutely breathtaking. I have nothing but praise for this amazing place! We will miss you so much, Menoj, Janith, Kalhadi, Arincini, Kavin, and Hasha (sorry if we misspelled your names! 😄).
